Overview

Obligatory is an English fangame by peijipnag. It was created using the children's programming language Scratch. It is currently in an early stage of development.

Gameplay

Obligatory is a traditional fangame with point-and-click controls. The developer currently considers it to be more of a demo or preview rather than an actual game, with the official walkthrough calling it "rudimentary". As also stated by the game's developer, future updates will add more areas to explore and potentially Effects to collect.

As of the Beta Build, no future updates have been planned for Obligatory, putting the game on hold until further notice.

Plot

The player navigates Keibetsuki through his inner psyche.

Effects

These Effects exist solely in the game's code and are all inaccessible in-game, being conceptual. It is not yet known if any of them will be added in future updates or repurposed in some way.

Each Effect's sprite has a quote accompanying it being said from the prospective of an unspecified person.

Segway		"A rather lethal method of transportation. Take caution." Keibetsuki wears a helmet and rides on a self-balancing scooter.
Target		"Some people do not want their identities to be known. Their reasonings will be varied." Keibetsuki wears a mask with a target symbol on it which he can take off, revealing a censored face.
Glowstick		"Don't you remember being so young and free?" Keibetsuki holds a neon pink glowstick.
Keytar		"Music is in your blood." Keibetsuki carries a keytar.
