The starting area of the game shows Nozomi's decapitated head on the floor of a bloody, boarded up room. The exact circumstances of her death are unknown. A spirit named Nil is able to enter Nozomi's subconscious by interacting with her. It is also unknown whether Nil is Nozomi in spirit form or a separate being entirely.
