History
Annabelle/The Dreams of Annabelle Sunray
In the first game of the series, we see Annabelle alone in her apartment. Before she goes to sleep, she takes a electric grill from her balcony, put it next to her bed, put her clothes in it, and turned it on before going to bed. This sugests that she was attempting to commit suicide in her sleep. In her dream, Annabelle relives her positive memories that gives her reasons to live. However, as Annabelle experience these positive memories, the things she is running away from slowly catches up to her by the end of her dream. By the end of the first game, we see the end result of her suicide attempt. Her father, Jason, managed to turn off the electric grill before it could start a fire. However, Annabelle woke up and stabbed Jason. After doing so, she reattempted suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom. The game ends with her best friend Melody entering Annabelle's apartment through the balcony only to see the aftermath.
The Dreams of Melody Moonlight
Through Melody's perspective, we learn that Annabelle survived her attempted suicide and went into a coma. At the start of the game, Annabelle has supposedly woke up recently, and Melody is excited for her to be released from the hospital. However, the whole game turned out to be a dream, and we don't find out the ultimate fate of Annabelle. We do get to see get a brief glimpse of how Annabelle talks and interacts with Melody throughout the game.
Annabelle: Projection
Storywise, this game takes place after the first two games. In this game, we once again take control of Annabelle while she is in her coma. Due to the chaotic nature of her comatose state, Annabelle is largely a unreliable narrator throughout this game. A lot of the things Annabelle sees, encounters and talks about in this game's story does not literally reflect reality or Annabelle herself. What matters however, is what this journey represents. In the first game, Annabelle tried running away from her troubles by focusing on external positive things. In this game, Annabelle is forced to face what she is running from in a unfiltered, abiet, different form. The main lesson Annabelle learns from this experience is that she must come to terms with herself in order to move on with her life. By the end of the game, she wakes up from her coma, taking the lesson she learned to heart, thus taking the first step to recovery.
Note: Due to the game's origin as a vent game, only specific parts of this game is considered canon, namely, Annabelle learning to accept herself, Annabelle waking up from her coma and the existence of a character known as Riley.
An Annventure to End Them All
This game is not part of the Annabelle series. This is the third game of the Annventure Series that acts as a crossover between Yoobii's many games. Following the events of Annabelle: Projection, Annabelle has taken her lesson from the last game to heart and actively tries to look for the best in people and in herself. After she was released from the hospital, she has been having dreams of people disappearing from reality and her meeting a boy named Rudy and a girl named Jeanne and joining them on a quest to save the universe. When the day when people started disappearing came, Annabelle took the time to forgive her father Jason before he disappears. After that, she meets Rudy, and joins his group. Later in the game, when both Annabelle, Rudy and Jeanne are trapped, Annabelle sacrifices herself to allow Rudy and Jeanne to go free and save the universe. By the end of the game, Rudy and Jeanne holds a funeral for Annabelle.
