Effects Guide
Merry-go-Round (メリー)
Appearance: The protagonists ride on a carousel pony.
Passive Effect: The protagonists move faster.
Action: (Shift) A dinging sound plays.
Location: Found in the Castle Fairground.
Practical Uses: Allows you to travel through the dream world faster.
Go up the street exit to the Castle Fairground. Walk to the right from the entrance until you reach a carousel. Interact with the NPC standing next to it. A mini-cutscene will start playing. Press Z to leave the scene and get the effect.
Raw Egg (なまたまご)
Appearance: The protagonists become a raw egg.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) The protagonists return to the Nexus.
Location: Found in the Burner World.
Practical Uses: Allows you to return to the Nexus faster.
Go up the ladder in the Nexus to Burner World. Go south-east and interact with the burner with a cracked egg on top.
Snail (でんでんむし)
Appearance: The protagonists become snails.
Passive Effect: The protagonists move slower. Rain falls while this effect is equipped.
Action: None.
Location: Found in Tri-color Flower Land.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the door under the red roof. Go north-west; find and interact with the snail.
Alien (エイリアン)
Appearance: The protagonists become aliens.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) A UFO appears over the protagonist's head, drawing NPCs towards them.
Location: Found in Tube World.
Practical Uses: Used to move NPCs.
Enter the door directly to the right of the street exit. Go north-east and interact with the UFO.
Jellyfish (くらげ)
Appearance: The protagonists become jellyfish.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Items light up.
Location: Found in the Aquarium.
Practical Uses: Can highlight NPCs/objects.
Interact with the fountain. Go right and exit the tanks via a south-facing doorway. Go right again until you reach a wooden ladder. Go down the ladder then go right until you reach a tank with a ladder on its left side. Go down that ladder then go right and leave the tank through the south-facing entrance. Go right and look for a tank with a ladder in the center. Go down the ladder then go left and exit through the hole in the tank. Go right and head up through the glass tunnel. Go right and interact with the jellyfish in the room.
Diver (ダイバー)
Appearance: The protagonists wear diving suits.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) The protagonists dive into the ground, leaving a shadow.
Location: Found in the Deep Sea Throne Room.
Practical Uses: None.
Go up the street exit to the Castle Fairground. Go north-east to the dock area and get onto the swan boat. Go right and move onto the miniature whirlpool. In the pipe, go left to an area with moving swan boats. Move south away from the swan boats; a shark's fin will approach you and send you to an underwater area. Get off the throne then go south, east then north; find and interact with the diver.
Vase (かびん)
Appearance: The protagonists hold a vase.
Passive Effect: NPCs move away from you.
Action: (Z) When interacting with NPCs or certain objects, the protagonists will hit them.
Location: Found in the Mansion's back room.
Practical Uses: Allows you to kill NPCs and unblock paths.
Note: You can get this effect only as Nonoka.
Enter the door beneath the stairs leading to the Dream Bedroom. Go north and walk between the two tall streetlights. You'll arrive at a mansion with hedges. Take the path on the left and interact with the part of the hedge that has grass growing to the left of it. Enter the door at the back of the house. Interact with the woman that's attacking the man to get the effect.
Hansel and Gretel (ヘンゼルとグレーテル)
Appearance: The protagonists dress up as Hansel and Gretel (Nonoka as Hansel and Kiribana as Gretel).
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) When in a small area, the protagonists will eat an apple. In larger areas they will drop a seed on the floor.
Location: Found in the Candy Cottage.
Practical Uses: Can be used to mark where the player's been.
Enter the door directly to the right of the street exit. Go north-east and walk between two orange tubes that turn away from each other. This should transport you to a smaller version of the world. Go south-west and go under the green tubes in the ground.
In the forest area, go right and interact with the yellow flower. Go through a hidden path to your right, then go north-east and interact with the purple flower at the dead-end. Go left and make your way to the bridge. Take the bridge path going south then go north-west back to land and interact with another purple flower (on a narrow path north of a yellow flower). Enter the candy cottage and interact with the NPC inside.
Grilled Fish (やきざかな)
Appearance: The protagonists become grilled fish.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) A lime appears, squeezing some juice onto the protagonists.
Location: Found in the Apartment.
Practical Uses: None.
When playing as Nonoka, enter the door directly under the Dream Bedroom door. Go south and walk between the two streetlights at the very bottom. At the apartment area, go right and interact with the flowerpot next to the door. After a brief scene, you'll enter the Apartment. Aside from the Little RPG minigame strategy book that can be read by interacting with the bookshelf, going here is required to unlock the area for Kiribana.
Wake up, save and switch to playing as Kiribana. Follow the directions above to reach the apartment area. Interact with the flowerpot again and Kiribana will enter the Apartment. Enter the kitchen area and interact with the stove to get the effect.
Menu Themes
Blue
When playing as Nonoka, enter the door directly under the Dream Bedroom door. Go south and walk between the two streetlights at the very bottom. At the apartment area, go right and interact with the flowerpot next to the door. After a brief scene, you'll enter the Apartment. Go up to the bedroom area and interact with the shirt hanging on the wall twice. Go right and interact with the tree with blue flowers.
Rainbow
(Vase effect is required. The path to this menu contains flashing images.)
Interact with the fountain. Go right and exit the tanks via a south-facing doorway. Go right again until you reach a wooden ladder. Go down the ladder then go right until you reach a tank with a ladder on its left side. Go down that ladder then go right and leave the tank through the south-facing entrance. Go right and enter the first doorway you reach.
In the area with multicolored tiles, go south-west and enter the red archway with green flowers. In the next area, go north-west and enter the yellow archway with blue flowers. Use the Vase to kill NPCs blocking your path and make your way north. Enter the archway north from where you entered. Go north once more and interact with the NPC on the path twice. Go right and interact with the rainbow tree.
Red
When playing as Nonoka, enter the door directly under the Dream Bedroom door. Go north and walk between the two tall streetlights. You'll arrive at a mansion with hedges. Interact with the keypad to unlock the gate. Enter the front garden then go up and enter the mansion. Go up the second floor then go left. Enter the fourth door from your left. You should now be in a room with a desk in the middle and a red dress hanging up to the left. Interact with the dress twice, then go right and interact with the tree with red flowers.
Events
Circus Show
Go up the street exit to the Castle Fairground. Go up a few steps from the entrance, then go right and interact with the open circus tent to view a cutscene.
Roller-coaster
Go up the street exit to the Castle Fairground. Go south-east to the roller-coaster and interact with the NPC standing by the stairway entrance to activate a cutscene.
Shrine
Go up the street exit to the Castle Fairground. Go north-east to the dock area and get onto the swan boat. Go right and move onto the miniature whirlpool. In the pipe, go right to an area with large pillars. Go north-east and look for a stone torii. Stop at the torii, hop off the boat and go under the torii. Head up the stone path. Interact with the shrine and a short cutscene will play.
