Overview

Botaniki is an English Yume Nikki fangame developed by FeverDev in Unity.

The game began as an attempt to recreate Sabitsuki from .flow in 3D during 2018. The game was later reworked into an original project.^{[citation needed]}

Gameplay

Botaniki plays like a traditional fangame. The goal of the game is to explore and obtain Relics to unlock the ending. The player can save by interacting with the computer in the bedroom, and enter the dream world by sleeping in the bed.

There are four effects in the game. These are separate from Relics and do not appear to affect the ending, although one of them opens up a secret area. One of these effects allows for exploration in pitch black areas of the game.

The player can jump off both sides of the Nexus to enter different worlds, and enter a Nighttime/limbo version of the world outside the protagonist's apartment by backtracking to the door the player reaches the Nexus from.

Plot

The player must uncover the world Ouiki lives in and has created for herself. There are many worlds to explore and a handful of characters to meet. The further the player progresses in Botaniki, the more the world outside Ouiki's windows changes.

Upon reading something called "God's Promise," it reveals some information written by Ouiki:

“My life has been filled with things I don't understand. Praying has given me an answer on how to reclaim my mind, but I'm running out of time...”
