Overview
Emi (笑美) is the protagonist of Ex.Emi.
Appearance
Emi has a middle-long black hair and black eyes with visible purple dark shadows underneath them. She wears a blue sweater and a gray skirt, which are described in the game as "cheap" (やすもの). At home, Emi wears only white socks on her feet. When she leaves her apartment, she puts on red shoes. Emi has noticeably large breasts, judging by the sprite and official artwork. In the game, her eyes are either closed or not visible to the player.
Personality
In the game Emi described as '異常', which means 'abnormality', 'strangeness' or 'disorder'. She also probably suffers from insomnia ('不眠症' in game's menu). Her dreams are dark and have an unpleasant sexual undertones, which means that she may have had some unpleasant experience associated with it. But besides the gloomy worlds, there are also some light worlds in the game, which means Emi is not completely consumed by dark thoughts.
Past
Not much known about Emi's past. Emi is probably old enough to afford a small apartment on her own. It seems that something that happened in the past left Emi mentally traumatized. She refuses to leave her apartment and takes pills to enter the Dream World, apparently wanting to escape from reality.
