Puru is coping with the death of a friend
There is a gravestone in the nexus. For most of the game, interacting with it will have Puru will say that she cannot read what is written on it. This could be because she in in denial and doesn't want to face the truth. When traveling through the game's version of a Hell Maze, the player can find an area with red buildings. Inside one of the buildings is an NPC that Puru can attack. Doing so will cause the dialogue when reading the gravestone to then say "......" This could mean that Puru now knows what the gravestone says, but doesn't want to say it. It could likely be the name of her friend. The areas you need to travel though before meeting the NPC can also imply that they are already dead, with the Hell Maze symbolizing an underworld for the dead.
The fact the Puru has to kill the NPC herself, could imply that she was either responsible for their death, or that it was her way of confronting and accepting their death. If Puru does not kill the NPC, then END 1 will play out, with her jumping off her balcony and ending her life. This could be because she wasn't able to live with her friend's death. However, only once she can accept things and move on, can END 2 happen where she leaves her room. Triggering END 2 also changes the title image of the game to be the two of them side by side again.
