Effects

Rollerskates

Wear a pair of Rollerskates.

Appearance: James wears a light blue helmet and rollerskates.

Passive Effect: James' movement speed increases.

Action: None.

Practical Uses: Allows James to navigate the dream world faster.

Enter the teal-green door in the Nexus. In Gear World, go behind the door then go all the way up to four giant gears. Interact with the rollerskating equipment in the center of these gears.

Pistol

Wield a Pistol.

Appearance: James wields a pistol.

Passive Effect: Certain NPCs will react differently to James.

Action: (Z) Interacting with a NPC makes James attack them.

Practical Uses: Can be used to kill NPCs.

(Mushroom World should be unlocked first.)

Enter the flashing door in the Nexus. In Mushroom World, go south-west from the door to a cluster of green mushrooms. A tunnel-like building with double doors can be found among them. Enter this building to reach a facility-like area. In the facility, go left and follow the corridor until you arrive at a vertical hall with a room off to the left side. Enter this room and interact with the pistol on the ground.

Deer

Grow the features of a Deer.

Appearance: James has the antlers and ears of a deer.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (Shift) James huffs.

Practical Uses: None.

(Bog World should be unlocked first.)

Enter the mossy-green door in the Nexus. In Bog World, navigate your way north-east from the door and look for a subway-like entrance. Go into this entryway to reach the Highway. From where you first reach the highway, go south by the first crossroad until James hits a wall. From there navigate your way south-east and look for a forest area. Interact with the deer walking around there to get the effect.

Traffic Sign

Become a Traffic Sign.

Appearance: James has a traffic sign for a head.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (Shift) An eye appears on the sign, and James is warped to the Nexus.

Practical Uses: Used to quickly return to the Nexus.

Enter the orange and gray door in the Nexus. In Sign World, walk down from the door until you reach a pair of long, vertical white lines on the ground. Step down to the middle of these lines and then go right. You should come across a black silhouette figure with a yellow road sign for a face. Interact with this figure to get the effect.

Crystal

Become a Crystal

Appearance: James has a purple crystal for a head.

Passive Effect: When transparent, chasers won't follow James.

Action: (Shift) James turns transparent.

Practical Uses: Allows James to sneak past chasers.

Enter the purple door in the Nexus. In Gem World, go right from the door until you find yourself standing a few steps above a giant red crystal. Walk up and away from the crystal and interact with the tall purple crystal.

Diving Suit

Wear a Divers Suit.

Appearance: James wears an old-fashioned diving suit.

Passive Effect: Allows James to walk through water.

Action: None.

Practical Uses: Allows James to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.

Enter the orange and gray door in the Nexus. In Sign World, go behind the door then walk north to a round orange sign. From there go left until you see a blue archway. Interact with the archway to reach Beach Town. Go all the way to the right and leave through the arched gateway. In Gray Beach go north and look for a glass bottle with a purple object inside it. Interact with this bottle to reach Boat World.

From where you enter Boat World, go right and take the first path going up. Now turn left and walk into the sea. From here go north until you reach another pier. Walk up this pier to return to Boat World. Ffter that go right, turn down and interact with diving helmet at the end of pier.

Mushroom

Become a Mushroom Person

Appearance: James a tiny mushroom person.

Passive Effect: James can fit through small spaces.

Action: None.

Practical Uses: Allows James to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.

Enter the flashing door in the Nexus. In Mushroom World, go left from the door until you reach a cluster of blue mushrooms. Go north among these blue mushroom and look for a hut with a blue roof. Enter the hut and interact with mushroom NPC inside to get the effect.

Unlockable Worlds

Mushroom World

(Having the Crystal effect is recommended.)

Enter the red-brown door in the Nexus. In Scribble World, go behind the door and walk up until you just pass a spiral scribble to your left. From here go right and interact with the bloody mouth. On the Red Stain Path make your way roughly south-east to a dead-end with a red box object (dodge the chasers using the Crystal effect). Interact with the box to reach the Crossroads. Navigate your way approximately north-east in the Crossroads and find a brown triangle. Interact with it to go in Crossroads Shacks. Leave the shack go north to a large building with an open doorway on the side. Enter this building and interact with yellow mushroom to Reach Mushroom world. The entrance can be found to the north-east of where you arrive.

Bog World

(Having the Crystal effect is recommended.)

Enter the red-brown door in the Nexus. In Scribble World, go behind the door and walk up until you just pass a spiral scribble to your left. From here go right and interact with the bloody mouth. On the Red Stain Path make your way roughly south-east to a dead-end with a red box object (dodge the chasers using the Crystal effect). Interact with the box to reach the Crossroads. Navigate your way approximately north-west or south-west and look for a green ball NPC. Interact with it reach Bog World. The entrance can be found north-west from where you arrive.

Tapes

Tape 1

(Diving Suit effect is needed.)

Follow the Diving Suit guide to reach the Gray Beach. go right to the white water and equip the Diving Suit to enter the water. Go right until you reach an apparent dead end, then go north until you reach a separated bit of land with a section leading to the right. Go down this path, go right and enter the lighthouse on the other side. climb the stairs to reach the top of the lighthouse and interact with the tape on the ground.

Tape 2

(Mushroom effect is needed.)

Follow the Diving Suit guide until you reach the Deep Sea. From here navigate your way north-east and look for a small hole in the ground. Once you find the hole equip the Mushroom effect and enter the hole. Go all the way to the right and interact with the tape on the ground.

Tape 3

Interact with the computer in the dream bedroom and drop all of your effects. Follow the Pistol guide until you reach the entrance of the Pistol room. Instead of entering that room navigate your way north-east to a dead-end hall. There should be a doorway blocked by a faceless gray NPC. Interact with this NPC to make them disappear and enter the room. Interact with the tape on the bed.

Events

Cyberverse Minigame

A minigame can be played by sitting at the computer in the real world and selecting the Cyberverse icon.

Stranger in the Dark

After collecting Tape 1, the screen will turn dark. Go back down the stairs to exit the lighthouse. Once outside, keep going left to trigger the event.

Giant Eel

Occurs immediately after collecting Tape 2.

Endings

Ending 1

Collect all of the effects. Enter the Dream Room and use the computer to drop all effects. Wake up, leave the bedroom through the now open door then walk north along the stone path until you reach the end.

Ending 2

Collect all of the tapes and wake up. There should be a green symbol displayed on the computer screen in the real world. Sit at the desk and interact with the computer to finish the game.
