Effects Guide


Fox

Go west and warp to Lake World. Take the boat south and east until you reach the bottom of a large island filled with trees. Enter between the gap in the trees. In the next area, head north and enter the log cabin. Interact with the fox pelt.

Dreamcatcher

Go east and warp to Totem World. Head northeast while avoiding the Noppera (you may wish to use the Fox effect to make this easier), and enter the teepee. Interact with the dream-catcher.

Wings

Go northwest and warp to Crystal Tree World. Head southwest and ascend the green flight of stairs. Enter the building. Take the middle path on your left. Interact with the floating cluster of crystals.

Monochrome

Go south and warp to Game & Watch World. Head northwest and enter the house. Continue right past the burning building and enter through the next open doorway you reach. Interact with the handheld console.

Maple Syrup

Go northeast and warp to Autumn World. Head west, south, west again, then up between an opening in the trees. Interact with orange blob.

Noppera

The Match and Wings effects are required and recommended, respectively.

Go northwest and warp to Crystal Tree World. Head southwest and ascend the green flight of stairs. Enter the building. Take the topmost path on your right, then take the stairs and descend the darkened staircase. Equip and use the Match Effect before continuing down. In the next area, go southeast. Pass through the oval between two circles which otherwise look like two eyes and a mouth. Immediately equip and activate the Wings effect upon entering the next area to stop the Noppera throughout. Navigate through the maze until you reach a black platform. Interact with the Noppera head propped up on a pole.

Rain Mask

The Match effect is required.

Go south and warp to Game & Watch World. Head north and enter the opening in the grove of trees. Continue north and fall down a hole. Carry on right until Yorutsuki is facing north, then equip the Match effect. Go up until you see a red-orange path to your left, follow it to the Cryptic Tiles Maze. Navigate your way north and east to a down staircase somewhere in the middle of the maze. Interact with the rain mask.

Match

Go southwest and warp to Notebook World. Head south and west a bit to a black dot with the word "way" above it. While standing upon it press the Z key to be teleported to a burning area. Interact with the match in the center.

Lab Coat

Go northeast and warp to Autumn World. Head west and head towards a small hut found in a path in the trees. Talk to the character in the hut before leaving. Go north and left a bit and climb up the towering stalk. Continue climbing up and left until you reach the next area. Enter the automatic door. Interact with the lab coat hanging on the wall.

Planet

The Lab Coat effect is required.

Go north and warp to Chess World. Head northeast and cross a black-and-white tile between two pieces. Go around and out along the path to Go World. Head south and east down a square hole. Navigate through the next area to the rafters above the entrance platform. Enter the train and head left to a dark red locked door.

OR

Go west and warp to Lake World. Take the boat east and jump into the depression in the center of the island. While avoiding the Noppera, make your way to a rusty U-shaped pipe. Go through it and south along the path. In the next area, head up and enter the train and go right to a dark red locked door.

Equip the Lab Coat effect to unlock it. In the next area, take the second staircase from the right and enter the spaceship. Inside, interact with one of the two levers and wait a few minutes until the craft comes to a stop. Continue right across the surface of the moon to a building. Inside, interact with the floating ring off the edge of the platform.

Demon

Go northeast and warp to Autumn World. Head west and north and head towards a small hut found in a path in the trees. Sleep in the bed to the right. Go south, then north and a bit west through a path flanked by trees. Navigate north across the icy path, then carry on. In the next area, head south and west and enter church. Carry on to the back of the main corridor and enter the last room on the right. Interact with the glowing upside-down cross.

Fish

The Maple Syrup effect is required.

Go east and warp to Totem World. Find the teepee with a passage through the back. Once outside, go left. Head north to the seemingly endless path. Walk forward and then head backwards, then forward again until the scenery changes. In the next area, go right to the end of the road, then go up. Jump off the pier straight ahead. Go west and find the underwater villa; use the Maple Syrup effect to transform into a blob and enter the squat building with a square entryway. Interact with the floating card.

Jester

The Match effect is required.

Go south and warp to Game & Watch World. Head north and enter the opening in the grove of trees. Continue north and fall down a hole. Carry on right until Yorutsuki is facing north, then equip the Match effect. Go up and right across the path. Follow the path until you reach a fork; go north into a building. Pass through the central area and interact with the window at the end. Find and step on the red Joker card. Go north and interact with the mirror.

Hanging Rope

Go west and warp to Lake World. Take the boat east and jump into the depression in the center of the island. While avoiding the Noppera, make your way to a rusty U-shaped pipe. Go through it and south along the path. In the next area, head northeast and pass between two claws. Enter the rusted ship ahead. When you reach a fork, go left, and follow the path north. Climb the chain in the upper corner of the room. Interact with the hanging body.

Reaper

The Hanging Rope or Cloud Effect is required.

Follow the directions to the Hanging Rope effect, but go up at the fork instead. Follow the path until you reach a room with another large chain, and head left. Head left at the next fork and use the Hanging Rope or Cloud effect to cross the gap and enter the hole. Navigate the maze to a dead-end space with a square in center. Step into the square and press Z to warp to the next area.

Continue straight ahead. At the final platform, step on the white circle. Head southwest and step inside a black hole. Follow the stone path right until the path doubles up and goes north; continue right and pass between two columns of gravestones nearby. Carry on north and approach the grim reaper.

Hole

Follow the directions to the Fish effect, but instead of heading into the squat building, find and enter the building at the top with the double entrance. In the next area, search for another entryway much like the one you entered from: inside, interact with the square to be teleported to the interior of another building. Exit into the Demon Capital and go north and cross a boardwalk to a roof area. Continue up and past the trees into the Hand Settlement. Find the topmost dwelling on the right of the map and enter it. Carry on along the path. Interact with the hand-like object sticking out of the ground.

OR

Go east and warp to Totem World. While avoiding the Noppera, locate the teepee that leads to the forest. Take the right path and head up past the totem. Carry on north until you reach the roof--once there, walk around the perimeter to the north exit. Continue up and past the trees into the Hand Settlement. Find the topmost dwelling on the right of the map and enter it. Carry on along the path. Interact with the hand-like object sticking out of the ground.

Abstract

The Wings effect is highly recommended, if not required.

Follow the directions to the Fish effect, but instead of heading into the squat building, find and enter the building at the top with the double entrance. In the next area, search for another castle-like entryway. Continue through the next few areas until you reach a barren wasteland. Walk to the other end and find a small square exit surrounded by mounds. Navigate your way through the white paths to a yellow exit. Head to the left to the edge of the purple area and locate a bridge. Carry on along the bridges and across the islands to the uppermost ridge of the map. In the next area, equip the Wings effect and activate it to freeze the Noppera throughout the purple maze. Make your way up to an exit at the top, then interact with the purple mushroom.

Exit into the Fungi Forest and search for a multicolored mushroom. Interacting with it will warp you to a psychedelic world. Locate the checkered patch on the ground and step on it. Interact with the brilliant starburst at the end of the path.

Headphones

From the Nexus, go to southeast to the Atom world. Go southwest and head inbetween the two lampposts. Go southeast and enter the first fenced in building. Follow the path until you enter the Retro area. Get on the bike and head west. Go on the first road headed north. Following the path leads to the Monster Factory.

From the entrance, head west then north; the path will lead to the upper left area of the map. Head across the catwalk and enter the next area. Follow the path into the first room then go west and take the first path south. In the room you can find the Headphones on the wall near the south entrance.

FORBIDDEN

The Hanging Rope or Wings Effect is recommend.

Go to the Chess world (central north warp in the Nexus, directly up from the entrance you come in from Yorutsuki's room) and try to find a checkered tile on the floor with two, unmoving white chess pieces to the left and right. From here, go through the maze until you get to the world with the black and white circles scattered around. Find a 1 tile wide doorway (as opposed to the wider doorway, that takes you off track) and you'll be taken to Rust World. In Rust World, work you way down and then to the left until you find a grey doorway on the other side of a small ledge. Use the Hanging Rope effect to cross it. You should be in Grey World (it's like a black-and-white film looking place) and keep going up until you reach the top row of houses. One should have an open door, so go inside. There may appear to be nothing, but walk far each and you'll enter the Backrooms. The Wings effect is recommended here because of the Nopperas. Try to find a 1 tile wide corridor, and you should be led to a maze. Use the sound to figure out the way through, if the room is getting darker, you're on the right track. You should come to a creepy room with realistic eyes and a mouth in darkness. Interact with it, and you'll be taken to FORBIDDEN World. Find a photorealistic mouth with the eyes crossed out by the ubiquitous censor bars (it's south west-ish of where you came from, not too hard to find unless you get lost). Interact with it, and walk up the path to get the effect.

Cloud

The other nineteen effects are required.

Follow the directions to the Planet effect, but take the first staircase nearest the train instead. Use the Lab Coat effect to enter a smaller spaceship and interact with the single lever at the front. Wait a few minutes until the craft comes to a stop. Exit south to the Cryptic Tiles Maze. Somewhere to the right is a second staircase. In the next area, you will encounter rooms which require a specific effect to successfully clear. Once you've crossed all the rooms, follow the stairs and interact with the cloud on the landing.

OR

Use the Abstract effect from Yorutsuki's dream balcony to immediately enter trial area.

Aether

The Cloud effect is required.

After completing The Temple and obtaining the Cloud effect, go back to the balcony outside of Yorutsuki's room in the dream world (the simplest way being to wake up and go back to sleep again). From here, use the newly obtained Cloud effect to fly over the wall separating Yorutsuki and Hirumataiyo (ergo, the wall to the left). Interact with Hirumataiyo in order obtain the Aether effect.

Gaia

The Cloud effect is required.

The method to obtaining the Gaia effect is nigh-identical to that of the Aether effect, the only difference being to use the Cloud effect to fly over the wall to the right (or alternatively continue flying left from Hirumataiyo's balcony). Here, you should find Shōgohoshi sitting down in the corner. Interact with her to obtain the Gaia effect.


Events


Bloodstain 1 - "Crescent Moon"

Follow the directions to get the Lab Coat effect. Equip it and enter the Lab. Avoiding the Noppera, keep going east until you enter another corridor. Continue going east until you find the a door in the northeast corner. The door leads to Home. Go up the stairs and enter the east-most door, which leads you to a bedroom. Exit out to the balcony and re-enter. This will lead to a long corridor. Enter the very last door. This will put you into another Lab. Head north until you see the long mirror and interact with it.

Doing so will play the event and give you the Crescent Moon bloodstain.

Bloodstain 2 - "Star Fall"

From the Nexus, go to southeast to the Atom world. Go southwest and head inbetween the two lampposts. Go southeast and enter the first fenced in building. Follow the path until you enter the Retro area. Get on the bike and head west. Go on the second road headed north. Following the path leads to the Overgrown Apartments.

Enter the doors surrounded by vines. At the very end, enter the balcony and interact with the bloodstain to play the event.

Bloodstain 3 - "Sunset"

The Aether effect is required.

After obtaining the Aether effect from Hirumataiyo, equip it and enter her room. Follow the path and interact with her bed. Doing so will give you the final bloodstain.

Noppera Fight

Follow FORBIDDEN effect guide to the Backrooms, find a doorway and enter in it, you will get in place with many different chaotic tiles, one of waring signs should brought on some path, go north and walk between beds, get ready to a real fight with Noppera.

AAAAA Room

Follow FORBIDDEN effect guide to the Backrooms, find a doorway and enter in it, you will get in place with many different chaotic tiles, enter the first from right building, it will brought you in that same room, after event Yorutsuki will woke up automatically.


Endings Guide


Ending 1 Escaped?

After collecting all effects wake up and sleep again, when you enter the nexus you will be in the room with two doors, left one is nexus itself, enter the right door, go roughly south-east, find small building and enter in it, go north and interact with the purple hole, you will return in reality, go on the balcony and interact with the blood spot, then just leave home through left exit to see ending.

Ending 2 Apotheosis

After triggering all the bloodstain events, return to Yorutsuki's room and exit the door. In the room with the Ending 1 door, there should be a new path in the middle. Enter and activate the event at the end. Once you wake up, interact with the door after which you can leave.

Open the menu and choose the "Wake Up" option twice to trigger ending.

Ending 2a Apotheosis - Together

Follow Ending 2 guide to the moment of Yorutsuki's freedom from her room, then go west in next hall, using Lab Coat effect enter the first door, interact with kiosk and enter next numbers, first one is "1293" second one is "3572", interact with the all three monitors in room to read all information, leave room, go east twice, interact with the last monitor, read last information, open the menu and choose the "Wake Up" option twice, ending will be with a little continuation.

Ending 3 Truly Escaped

Trigger all bloodstains events, sleep and go back to the nexus by the path should appear new doorway in the middle, go inside and north, after short event, you will wake up, interact with the door, after you can leave your room, go east and north, keep play to the ending.

Ending 3a Truly Escaped - Together

Follow Ending 3 guide, to the part with freedom from Yorutsuki's room, go west and using Lab Coat enter the door on south, after Hirumataiyo will be free, repeat same steps like in Ending 3 to see True End with some differences.

Ending 3b Truly Escaped - Together [Almost]

Follow the Ending 3a guide until you free Hirumataiyo. After, go into the corridor to the west. Enter the first door with the Lab Coat effect and interact with the kiosk. Enter "1293". Optionally, read the red text boxes. Then continue to the end like Endings 3 and 3a.

Ending 3c Truly Escaped - Massacre [Truly Alone]

Trigger all bloodstains events, use the Reaper effect to kill 30 NPCs, including Noppera Chasers, check your dreamcatcher in real world, if after counting of absorbed and removed/killed beings Yorutsuki will say "There is no going back now" your job is done, follow Ending 3 guide to the end and you will see something new.

Ending 3d Truly Escaped - Massacre

Follow Ending 3c guide to the moment when Yorustuki will be free, set free Hirumataiyo and keep play to the end. End will be a little bit different.

Ending 3e Truly Escape - Together  [False]

Follow Ending 3b guide to the moment with kiosk, enter next numbers, first one is "1293", second one is "3572" read all info on monitors in the room, leave room, go east twice, read info on the last monitor, keep playing to the end, it will get a little bit continuation.
