Complete effects guide for Nocti (Version 0.12).
Effects
Exit the house after the opening cutscene. Interact with the mailbox to receive more instructions and save your game. To progress, go down and talk to the NPC standing next to the tablet, then interact with the tablet itself.
Roller Blades
Speed around the Otherworld at a blindingly fast pace!
Appearance: Nocti wears a red helmet and rollerskates.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Nocti's moving speed changes.
Practical Uses: Allows you to travel around the Otherworld faster.
Go down the left path in the Nexus. Go north in the village area and enter the abandoned house. Once inside, go upstairs to the second floor and enter the room on the left. Interact with the red book on the dresser and you will get a key. Go back downstairs and interact with the wooden door next to the stairs. Jump down the hole in the basement and you will arrive in a seemingly cleaner version of the room. Interact with the helmet on the floor.
Swim
Swim through any body of water, salt or fresh.
Appearance: Nocti wears swimming gear.
Passive Effect: Nocti is able to swim through water.
Action: None.
Practical Uses: Allows you to reach areas that are normally inaccessible.
Go down the right path in the Nexus. Follow the dirt path where it goes north to the beach. Once at the beach, go north again until you reach the entrance of the pier (wooden slope). Enter the green building next to this slope and interact with blue life ring on the counter.
Kitty
Charm others with a cute costume and a charming meow~
Appearance: Nocti wears a pink dress with white paw gloves, white cat ears and a white tail.
Passive Effect: NPCs may have different dialogue when interacted with.
Action: (1) Nocti meows.
Practical Uses: Used to see certain events and interactions.
Go down the right path in the Nexus. Follow the dirt path where it goes north to the beach. Once at the beach, go north again until you reach the entrance of the pier (wooden slope). Walk up the slope and through either of the double doors to enter the pier. When you're on the other side go right, up and right again. You should see a stall with a stuffed white cat head in front of one of the stalls. Interact with this cat toy to obtain the effect.
Sweater
A comfy sweater that reminds you of your best friend.
Appearance: Nocti wears a blue sweater with a single yellow stripe.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (1) The sweater will change to a random color. Which part of the sweater that changes color is also random.
Practical Uses: None.
(Tiny effect is needed.)
Go down the north path in the Nexus. Go up the grassy slope then go right and interact with bare tree. Go north again after being teleported to reach the Ant City. Equip the Tiny effect and enter the small yellow building on the first (bottom-most) row of buildings. You should now be standing in a clothes store. Interact with the mannequin facing away from wall to your left to obtain the effect.
Tiny
A comfy sweater that reminds you of your best friend.
Appearance: Nocti becomes tiny.
Passive Effect: Nocti can fit through small spaces.
Action: None.
Practical Uses: Allows you to enter areas that are otherwise inaccessible.
Take the south path in the Nexus. Go right in the forest area and enter the bush with a hole in it. Inside the bush, go south until you reach a corner with two giant leaves and a rock occupying it. Now go right and enter the hole with footprints leading away from it. Go right in the next, take the path on the left and enter the hole at the top of the dead-end. Go up the slope and interact with the magnifying glass on the ground.
Shadow
???
Appearance: Nocti becomes a shadow with a single cyclops eye.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: None.
Practical Uses: None.
Follow the instructions for the Roller Blades effect until you reach the tidy basement. Exit the basement then re-enter; there is a random chance of a shadow creature appearing inside the room. Enter this creature's mouth when it appears, then go left and interact with the NPC at the end of the path.
Orbs of Creation
Yellow Orb
Go down the north path in the Nexus. Go up the grassy slope then go right and interact with bare tree. Go north after being teleported to reach the Ant City. Go north again and exit the city by following the road. You will arrive at the outskirts of a forest area with a gold sun pillar nearby. Interact with the sun pillar to open its eye.
You must now venture into the forest and open the eyes on each of the eight statues placed throughout. One of these statues is in a separate area to the left of the main forest maze. After interacting with all of these statues, a golden arch near the right side of the maze will open its eye. Walk under this arch then enter the golden building. Interact with statue inside the building and you will obtain the Yellow Orb. A cutscene will play and you will be sent back to the Maiden's Island. A new textbox skin will also be unlocked; this design can be switched to via the Visual tab in the Options menu.
Events
Red Cloak Figure
Go down the south path in the Nexus then turn back. A cutscene will play.
Tip Center
Go down the north path in the Nexus. Go right past the grassy slope and enter the wooden cabin. Ring the bell on the counter twice and a NPC, the Molemin, will appear. You can talk to the Molemin afterwards to receive general tips on how to proceed and navigate the Otherworld.
Sad Girl
(Kitty effect is needed.)
Go down the right path in the Nexus. Follow the dirt path where it goes right and you should see a girl sitting on the ground. She will give short/clipped responses if you talk to her. If you talk to her with the Kitty effect equipped she will open up a bit more before leaving. She can be found in the Tip Center afterwards.
Shadow Bunny
Follow the instructions for the Roller Blades effect until you reach the tidy basement. Exit the house via the door at the bottom-right of the ground floor. Step between the pillars across the entrance of the house. Go south from these pillars in the next area. You should see a NPC sleeping beside a bush. Interact with this NPC and they will run back to the house; you can find this NPC again wandering around on the ground floor. Any NPC that was in the house will now be awake and wandering about.
Ritual Bowl
Return to the Maiden's Island and enter the large building to the right of the tree. A cutscene will play the first time you enter.
Library Meeting
In the Maiden's Island, enter the large building to the right of the tree. Enter the door to the right of the pews. A cutscene will play the first time you enter.
Figurine
In the Maiden's Island, enter the small house with an easel beside the door. A cutscene will play the first time you enter.
