Actually, the creator said that the protagonist's eyes looking like Smile's was unintentional. It was really just to show even in their "human forms," that they're not human. And even though it's got some gory imagery, I don't think it necessisarily means it was inspired by .flow. I'm sorry if that all sounded rude. I just felt the need to point this out because whenever someone makes a Yume Nikki fangame with graphic elements or disturbing areas, people seem to always assume it was inspired by .flow.
