To address your first and second screenshot, you must use the Import Image option while selecting the Charset folder, then select your character's image file, then selecting the transparent color. If this was done correctly, the transparent color should no longer appear.
Your third screenshot is likely because you forgot to edit your Party after deleting the other party members. In the System tab, you can find your party. Set the second member to "None". This will make your party only contain your character if done correctly.
