The debug room isn't even far away. Considering the cream door takes you back to your room(with the exception of the gameboy being on, of course), your original dream room must have the same passageway to the debug room!
I tried that myself, and found that it worked!
You don't need to go through the mirror apartments to get to it, y'know?
