Overview
Yume Shikki (夢四記) (sometimes referred to by its original placeholder title Yume 4kki (ゆめ4っき)) is a fan collaboration project created by users of 4channel/4chan's /v/ board. As of April 19th 2021, the game is considered abandoned, with the "final" build being released on July 8th, 2021.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Yume Shikki is that of a traditional fangame and involves exploring a variety of different worlds and collecting various effects. As of yet no endings or end goal exists in the game. Collectible music tracks are planned but as of yet unimplemented.
Controls
- Move - Arrow Keys
- Interact/Select - Z/Space
- Open Menu/Cancel - X/Esc
- Effect Action - Shift
- Enter Debug Room - 1 (Version 4.6 onwards).
Plot
The protagonist of the fangame is Yotsuba Koiwai, the main character of the Yotsuba&! manga.
Effects
Name | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Scooter | Yotsuba rides a scooter, increasing her walking speed. Visually is a reference to the manga series that Yotsuba originated from. | |
Hammer | Yotsuba holds a hammer that allows her to fix and break certain objects when she interacts with them. | |
Botsuba | Yotsuba appears robotic and can walk on certain hazardous floors. | |
Feather | Yotsuba wears a feather in her hair. Allows her to jump by pressing the SHIFT key. | |
Scarecrow | Yotsuba wears a sack on her head giving her the appearance of a scarecrow. Pressing the SHIFT key allows her to pose with her hands up in a typical scarecrow stance, driving certain NPCs away. | |
Doll | Yotsuba takes the appearance of a wind up doll. When the SHIFT key is pressed a music box version of "I'd like to teach the world to sing (In perfect harmony)" plays, and the key in Yotsuba's back turns when she walks. | |
Flower | Yotsuba holds a flower basket. Allows her to collect certain flowers with the interaction key. Collected flowers appear in the Island World and can be used to teleport back to where the flowers were originally found. | |
Nightcrawler | Yotsuba wears a nightcrawler outfit, a possible reference to the 2014 movie of the same name. Pressing SHIFT makes her squat on the ground | |
Fancy | Yotsuba is dressed nicely. | |
Angler | Yotsuba wears an angler fish's head. Pressing SHIFT toggles the angler's light on or off, illuminating dark areas. | |
Punk | Yotsuba is dressed as a punk.
This effect is debug room only. | |
??e//????? | Yotsuba looks like she was put through the emboss filter. Pressing SHIFT teleports to a random coordinate on a map. Recommended for use only on looping maps since it tends to put the player out of bounds otherwise.
This effect is debug room only. |
