Overview

Debris (also occasionally known as Debris Dream) is a game made by someone known as Hedgehog (ハリネズミ) . It involves an idiot, Tatsuki (たつき)  going to the dream world by sleeping. There is an extra playable portion as an unlockable character in the post-game. It also seems to have glass and glitch motifs, possibly relating to the title  of "Debris": scattered remains of trash or wreckage.

Gameplay

Like most Yume Nikki fangames, Tatsuki refuses to leave his room, but has a balcony and videogame console with a game called Yoke. Tatsuki saves in what appears to be a diary or journal, and enters the dream world by sleeping in his bed.

Even though Debris stays true to the nature of Yume Nikki Fangames, it adds a few new things such as having locked doors in the nexus, and is known for its many events and attention to detail.

Plot

Debris starts out like most fangames, but focuses heavily on events and the environment to explain Tatsuki and his possible  personality/past. After collecting all the effects, there is an extra playable portion as Lefia for the other two endings. Debris can end in four ways, only one being the "True END"

For how to get the endings, and more information about them, please see our /walkthrough/ page for Debris (Warning: Spoilers for the endings of Debris)

Effects

For more information on effects and where to find them, please see our /walkthrough/ (Warning: Spoilers for the endings of Debris) page for Debris.

  • Scissors-Tatsuki's main weapon. Makes him wield a pair of scissors. Pressing SHIFT makes him snip the scissors twice.

  • Tuxedo- Tatsuki wears a tuxedo. Pressing SHIFT makes him bow.

  • Mouse-  Tatsuki's speed effect. Makes him turn into a rat. Pressing SHIFT makes him alternate between an human and a rat.

  • Glass- Tatsuki becomes made of blue glass. Pressing SHIFT makes him break (He can't move when broken) and shift again makes him whole.

  • Hole-  Makes his face an empty hole. Pressing SHIFT makes Tatsuki strecth his face to go back to the nexus.

  • Eyeless- Tatsuki's eyes are missing with lots of blood on him and he walks in random directions. Pressing SHIFT makes him clean his blood.

  • Arm Clock- Tatsuki's head becomes a clock with arms for pointers in the face and looses his own arms. Pressing SHIFT makes the pointer spin.

  • Slime- This effect slows Tatsuki down. Pressing SHIFT makes Tatsuki wiggle.

  • Gong- Tatsuki carries a small gong. Pressing SHIFT makes it rain, pressing it again makes it stop raining.

  • Upside-Down- This effect makes him upside-down. Pressing SHIFT makes him spin in a circle- when spinning, some NPCS may look different for a short amount of time while spinning, and it can be used to activate some events.

  • Beast- Tatsuki becomes black wolf-like monster with yellow eyes. Pressing SHIFT makes him roar which causes NPCS to scatter and run away from Tatsuki in a panic.

  • Hand Mirror- Tatsuki holds a hand mirror. Pressing SHIFT makes him raise the mirror which stops NPCS and chasers from moving.

  • Pan- A cosmetic effect which makes Tatsuki have a pan on his head with a pot lid as his shield. Pressing SHIFT makes him adjust the hat.

  • Bidoro- Tatsuki carries a bidoro (Japanese glass flute/toy) and plays it when SHIFT is pressed. It should be noted that, while rare, when playing the bidroro sometimes Tatsuki will blow too hard and break it, making it unusable until you wake up.

  • Desk Lamp- Makes Tatsuki hold said lamp. Pressing SHIFT turns the lamp on/off.

  • Rock- Tatsuki becomes made of rock. Pressing SHIFT makes a small rock fall from his head, and stays on the screen (can be used as a marker) until it is picked up again by interacting with it. Only one small rock can be on the screen at a time, and after exiting the area or room, it goes away,

  • Card- Turns Tatsuki into a card. Pressing SHIFT makes the card change suits.
