Overview

E Nikki (えにっき, Picture Diary) is a Yume Nikki fangame by Sakura (櫻). The game stars a young boy named Hazuki (葉月) who like most fangames protagonists is unable to leave his room, appearing to be locked in.

Plot

Hazuki's dreams are rather light-hearted, with motifs hinting that he may be a young child. This is represented by simple math questions with one-digit numbers by or doodle-like scrolling background with many fruits on it. According to Hazuki's description in the game, he actually is a child.

Gameplay

You enter the dream world through Hazuki's bed and save your game through his desk. What makes this game different from most fangames is that you don't start from the Nexus and explore the main worlds. Rather than that the player starts from a random main world, and is forced to find a leaf to take them to the Nexus. The location is then linked to the leaf permanently, so you can visit it later.

Cicada (みんみんぜみ)		Hazuki turns into a cicada, increasing his speed. Pressing Shift makes him cry like a cicada.
Eraser (けしゴム)		Hazuki becomes a eraser. Pressing Shift makes him wipe the ground with his eraser head, bringing him to the Nexus.
Child (まなご)		Hazuki becomes a toddler carrying a pink bat (which apparently according to the face graphic is actually him holding a person's hand). Pressing Shift makes him jump up.
Swimsuit (みずぎ)		Hazuki wears swim trunks. Pressing Shift makes him spin his watermelon swimming floaty. This effect also allows you to swim in water.
Marimba (もっきん)		Hazuki carries a marimba. Pressing Shift makes him stand in place. Pressing the arrow keys and Space makes him play various notes. Pressing Shift again unlocks him from this position.
Colorful (いろぴか)		Hazuki's body turns different colors. Pressing Shift makes him throw a ball of a random color (red, blue, or green) into the air and it splashes, tinting the screen.

Watermelon (すいか)		Hazuki's head turns into a watermelon. Pressing Shift makes him chop his head and drop juice on the floor.
Swimsuit (みずぎ)		Hazuki wears green swim trunks. Pressing Shift makes him stretch.
Tree (き)		Hazuki turns into a tree. Pressing Shift makes his hands grow flowers.
Xylophone (もっきん)		Hazuki carries a xylophone. Pressing Shift makes him play it.
Fruit Basket (フルーツバスケット)		Hazuki's head becomes a basket of fruits. Press Shift makes him toss it in the air.
Sunflower (ひまわり)		Hazuki becomes a sunlower.
Straw Hat (むぎわらぼうし)		Hazuki wears a straw hat.
Varicolored (いろいろとりどり)		Hazuki's body turns rainbow. Pressing Shift makes the screen color change.
