Overview

Madotsuki's Closet is an English Yume Nikki fangame created by Bagenzo. It was developed using a combination of Bitsy and Twine.

Gameplay

Madotsuki's Closet is a non-traditional fangame. The game is a piece of interactive fiction divided into four parts. Progress is made either through reading the text, completing small exploration sections or interacting with NPCs in the game.

Controls

  • Move - Arrow Keys
  • Interact/Progress - Space

Plot

The game is a mix between an analysis of Yume Nikki through the lens of the fan theory that Madotsuki is transgender, and a personal essay regarding the developer's experience with the game and how reading theories related to it helped her to realize and accept her own trans identity.
