Overview
Expiate is an English Yume Nikki fangame made by P0lter in RPG Maker 2003. In May of 2021, the developper has announced that the project was cancelled, although the concept may still be used for a new project.
Gameplay
Expiate plays like a traditional fangame. You enter the dream world by turning on the TV and sleeping on the couch. Alongside effect collecting, one of your goals is to find and collect strange, glitchy box-like objects hidden around the dream world. You can save your progress using the sheet of paper beside the TV.
Plot
You play as Corbin and explore his dreams/subconscious.
Effects
While there is no speed effect, Corbin can be made to move faster by pressing the Shift key.

Corbin becomes an oily-shadowy creature. He moves slower with this effect equipped. |
| Electrical |  |
Half of Corbin's body is replaced with machine parts. Pressing 1 toggles the lights in his body on/off. |
| Smog |  |
Corbin is made of smog. |
| Black Bandana |  |
Corbin wears a black bandana over his mouth. Pressing 1 makes him crack his joints, while he will hit NPCs if interacted with by pressing Z. |
