Overview
BRAINGIRL (ブレインガール) is an English Yume Nikki fangame created by dmn in RPG Maker 2003. It stars Mikan, an apartment-dwelling lucid dreamer.
Gameplay
BRAINGIRL is a traditional fangame, and is primarily based around the collection of effects and exploration of the dream world via the bed. Scattered across its areas are a form of currency known as CD's, which can be used at vending machines and, in the future, other types of vendors. Many features can be performed at the small black book on the table to the east of the bed, such as saving.
Another form of collectibles found within the game are menu themes, which can be toggled along with unlocked music tracks at the aforementioned book.

The game is still in a testing phase, and many of the warps are unavailable for the time being.
Plot
Based on the setting of Mikan's Nexus appearing to be a neighborhood street, and her dream self wearing a backpack by default, it can be assumed that she left her home often to attend school at some point. When she's in her apartment, however, she enjoys escaping to her dreams about these times. In addition to this, no parental figures or roommates can be seen implying that they are either out often or that she lives alone.
