The game starts with Qiu Qin in her room. The player can interact with the television to save and enter the Dream World through the mirror on the wall. The menu style can be changed by interacting with the horned skull in the room.

Unlike most fangames, Qiu Qin's appearance will sometimes change forms while entering some of the worlds. You collect '''Delusions (虚物)''' to gain progress, the game's version of effects. There is a room the player can access by closing the 3D Projector in the Nexus; you can enter the Subnexus with 6 more portals by opening the 3D projection.
 
Another unique feature of this game is that Qiu Qin can be harmed by chasers in her dream, who will take off her '''Health Points''' if she is caught. You start off as a girl named Qiu-Qin. One strange thing is that music plays while in the real world. You save at the television and enter the Nexus through a painting. While in the Nexus, you can change your walking speed by interacting with the statue in the middle. There is also a second nexus the player can access by entering the 3d (?) World. You collect effects as usual in fangames, but you can actually get harmed by aggressive NPCs and your HP goes down and you can get Game Over. Though there is a store where you can buy potions to refill your health.

Overview

Dream Genie (梦鬼, Mèng Guǐ , lit. Dream Ghost) is a Chinese Yume Nikki Fangame created by TanDen___ ☄ in RPG Maker 2003. Qiu Qin is the protagonist of this game.

Gameplay

The game starts with Qiu Qin in her room. The player can interact with the television to save and enter the Dream World through the mirror on the wall. The menu style can be changed by interacting with the horned skull in the room.

While in the Nexus, the player can change Qiu Qin's walking speed by interacting with the statue in the middle. Unlike most fangames, Qiu Qin's appearance will sometimes change forms while entering some of the worlds. You collect Delusions (虚物) to gain progress, the game's version of effects. There is a room the player can access by closing the 3D Projector in the Nexus; you can enter the Subnexus with 6 more portals by opening the 3D projection.
