Overview

Trade Effluent is an English Yume Nikki fangame created by claufiersoft. It was made for the 2017 Dream Diary Jam in RPG Maker MV.

Gameplay

Trade Effluent is a traditional fangame. Your main goal is to find effects and progress to the next area. Each area has at least one effect in it.

The order of each world changes with each playthrough.

Plot

Not much is known about the game's plot. You explore what seems to be the dreams of the unnamed protagonist.

The closest thing to an ending occurs when you've explored every area, after which a black screen appears and prompts the player to close the game.

Effects

Name	Image	Description
Bicycle		The protagonist's neck turns into a bike. Pressing Shift makes a ringing sound.
Bin		The protagonist turns into a bin.
Sock Puppet		The protagonist's left hand becomes a sock puppet.
Backwards		The protagonist faces the reverse of the direction you're moving.
Clogs		The protagonist wears a pair of clogs.
Cat		The protagonist turns into a cat photo. Pressing Shift plays a mewing sound.
2 Dimensional		The protagonist becomes flat and 2-dimensional.
Glitch		The protagonist turns glitchy. Pressing Shift changes the area's music.
Horns		The protagonist sprouts a pair of horns.
Doppelgänger		A copy of the protagonist appears and follows behind them. When Shift is pressed, the camera shifts focus to the doppelgänger.
Triceratops		The protagonist has the head of a triceratops.
