Overview

layered is a Japanese fangame made by Steer725 in RPG Maker VX Ace. The game stars Gatatsuki and Gakutsuki.

Gameplay

layered is a traditional fangame. Players can save by interacting with the computer on the desk. Interacting with the mirror allows you to switch between Gatatsuki and Gakutsuki. Sleeping in the bed enters the dream world where the protagonists can collect Qualia, this game's version of Effects.

Gatatsuki's Qualia

Panjandrum (パンジャンドラム)
Insecticide (さっちゅうざい)		Gatatsuki wields a can of Insecticide that can be used to kill NPCs. Pressing Shift has Gatatsuki shake the can.
Rags (ボロぬの)
Upper Jaw (うわあご)
Mephisto (メフィスト)		Gatatsuki sprouts wings and flies off the ground. Pressing Shift has Gatatsuki open his eyes, which lights up dark areas.
Siren (パンザマスト)
Masquerade (マスカレイド)		Gatatsuki dons a mask and a cape. Pressing Shift returns Gatatsuki to the Nexus.
Pandemic (パンデミック)		Gatatsuki dresses up in armor and a nurse's cap. Pressing Shift makes NPCs freeze.

Gakutsuki's Qualia

Name	Image	Description
Wheelbarrow (ねこぐるま)		Increases Gakutsuki's speed. Pressing Shift turns Gakutsuki into a cat (the Japanese word for Wheelbarrow contains the word "cat")
Machete (マチェーテ)
Stains (ステイン)		Gakutsuki becomes stained in blood. Pressing Shift causes him to disintegrate and return to the Nexus.
White Coat (はくい)		Gakutsuki wears a lab coat with blue goggles on his head. Pressing Shift has him put a syringe in his head, which turns his goggles and his eyes blue.
Prism (プリズム)		Gakutsuki turns a light blue. Pressing Shift lights up dark areas.
Lower Jaw (したあご)		Gakutsuki loses his lower jaw. Pressing Shift causes blood to rain from the sky.
Tortoiseshell (サビねこ)
Bellboy (ホテルマン)		Gakutsuki dresses as a bellboy. Pressing Shift switches what hand he's holding his briefcase.
