Overview

Uneven Dream (凹凸夢, おうとつゆめ, Outotsu Yume) is a collaborative Yume Nikki Fangame founded by FD and Nex. The game is similar to Yume 2kki (and, by extension, Yume Nikki: Solitude and Yume Shikki) by being made primarily of contributions submitted by a multitude of developers. In 2016, Uneven Dream underwent an extended hiatus until being revived in 2019.

Gameplay

Uneven Dream stars two protagonists: Kubotsuki and Totsutsuki. The player chooses a protagonist at the start of the game, but is able to switch between the two at will using the computer in each character's room. Both characters' computers allow them to save, change characters, and access a sound test (previously accessed through obtaining effects), though the sound test feature was removed in Version 0.04.

As of 0.05a, collectible Computer Wallpapers have been added to the game.

Outside of the collaborative aspect of the game and its multiple characters, Uneven Dream is relatively traditional, with gameplay revolving around exploration and collecting effects.

Plot

The plot of Uneven Dream is kept ambiguous (though previous versions were more direct in storyline), but the differences between Kubotsuki and Totsutsuki's personalities and environments are emphasized heavily.

Fast Forward		Kubotsuki's head is replaced with a fast-forward symbol, increasing his speed. Pressing Shift makes his sprite distort.
Boombox		Kubotsuki's head is replaced with a boombox.
Snowglobe		Kubotsuki becomes a snowglobe and snow falls to the ground.
Dark Matter		Kubotsuki's colors are inverted.
Turtle		Kubotsuki becomes an anthropomorphic turtle. Pressing Shift transforms him into a smaller, more realistic turtle, allowing him to crawl through small gaps. He also moves slower in the smaller form.
Lamppost		Kubotsuki has a lamppost for a head, allowing him to light up dark areas.
Box		Kubotsuki carries a box. Pressing Shift returns him to the Nexus.
Pencil		Kubotsuki wields a pencil, allows Kubotsuki to kill NPCs. Pressing Shift makes him scribbles.
Seer		Kubotsuki becomes a seer, revealing hidden objects. Pressing Shift also makes him lift his staff and drop it onto the ground, creating a small shockwave.
Plug		Kubotsuki holds a plug attached to a socket on his back.
Mouth		Kubotsuki has a giant pair of lips for a head.

Lily of the Valley		Totsutsuki becomes a Lily of the Valley. Allows you to kill NPCs by interacting with them.
Cape		Totsutsuki wears a cape, increasing her speed.
UV Light		Totsutsuki has a UV light for a head. Reveals hidden objects.
Sunflower		Totsutsuki has a sunflower for a head. Pressing Shift sends a flash of yellow light. This effect lights up dark areas.
Nightcap		Totsutsuki wears a green nightcap, decreasing her speed.
Butterfly		Totsutsuki becomes a butterfly. Pressing Shift causes her to become a smaller butterfly.
Mermaid		Totsutsuki becomes a mermaid. She can swim faster underwater and sing when pressing Shift.
Sidetail		Totsutsuki dresses up in an alternative outfit and hairstyle, and has heterochromia.
Origami		Totsutsuki becomes a drawing on a sheet of paper. Pressing Shift makes her fold into an origami paper crane.
