Overview
.ExE (or dotEXE) is an English Yume Nikki fangame made by Fg7 in RPG Maker 2003. The original version starred Hoshiko, a girl who refuses to leave her house. The game was completely remade and now stars Carrie.
Gameplay
Like .flow, .ExE involves entering the dream world through a computer, specifically clicking the .EXE button on Carrie's PC. Similar to Hallucigenia, Carrie takes on a different form in the dream world. The main objective is collecting effects and exploration. Two wallpapers are available for the computer. One of the nexus doors is barred permanently after viewing a cutscene immediately after entering it.
Carrie can wake up by pressing the 9 key, and save through a floppy disk icon on her computer (additionally, the wallpaper can be changed with the icon below it).
Plot
Not much is known about the plot. Carrie refuses to leave her house, but is able to explore beyond her bedroom.
