Overview

withers is a Japanese Yume Nikki Fangame created by Garakuta in RPG Maker 2000.

Gameplay

withers is a traditional fangame. The player enters the dream world by sleeping in the bed and the goal is to explore and find all the effects. Progress is measured by the board in Yakitsuki's real room, which fills with photos as effects are obtained. Interacting with the notebook on the round table allows the player to save.

You play as a girl named Yakitsuki (やきつき), who stays in her room and doesn't want to go out.

Wheelchair (くるまいす)		Yakitsuki sits in a wheelchair, doubling her speed.
Drip Stand (てんてきだい)		Yakitsuki walks with a drip stand. Pressing Shift makes her hold the drip stand as her weapon. Pressing Z while holding it lets you kill NPCs.
Wings (ハネ)		Yakitsuki grows a pair of what looks like insect wings. Pressing shift makes her float off the ground, doubling her speed.
Harmonica (ハーモニカ)		Yakitsuki carries a harmonica. Pressing Shift has her play the harmonica.
Guinea Pig (モルモット)		Yakitsuki becomes a mutated monster. Pressing Shift turns her into a Guinea pig, allowing her to fit into small spaces.
Muffler (マフラー)		Yakitsuki wears a red muffler. It has a random chance of instead being brown when equipped. Pressing Shift makes the muffler billow.
Mushroom (きのこ)		Yakitsuki has mushrooms on her head. Pressing Shift makes the mushrooms glow, lighting up dark places.
Flower Vase (かびん)		Yakitsuki turns into a walking vase. Pressing Shift makes a flower pop up. The flower has a random chance of being a different color.
Scarecrow (かかし)		Yakitsuki becomes a scarecrow.
Hat and Coat (ぼうしとコート)		Yakitsuki wears a brown hat with goggles and a winter coat. Pressing Shift makes her put on her goggles and cause snow to fall.
Range (レンジ)		Yakitsuki's head turns into a range cooker. Pressing Shift turns the range on, stopping NPCs movement.
Eyeball (めだまばな)		Yakitsuki's head is missing. Pressing Shift makes an eyeball plant pop up from her neck. Pressing Shift a second time closes the eye, returning Yakitsuki to the Nexus.
Maimai/Snail (マイマイ)		Yakitsuki carries a snail-shell backpack. Pressing Shift makes rain fall, leading Yakitsuki to take out a leaf umbrella.
