Overview
Older is a Japanese fangame created by xom in RPG Maker 2000. The game stars Takashi, an apparent soldier or prisoner of war.
Gameplay
Older plays like most traditional fangames, centered around the collection of effects and exploration of a dream world. The game allows saving through the menu, but is primarily done through a typewriter in Takashi's room. Uniquely, the dream world is accessed through a projector.
Controls
- Move - Arrow Keys
- Interact - Z/Space
- Open Menu - X/Esc
Plot
The "dream world" seems to consist of Takashi's memories/thoughts, many of which involve soldiers, tanks or now-old-fashioned things.

The most vital parts of the plot occur in the epilogue to the game. After collecting all effects, Takashi can now attempt to leave his room, only for a soldier to enter and shoot him. The game then cuts to many years in the future, in an abandoned version of Takashi's room. The player now gains control of a young Funetsuki, the protagonist of Xom's other fangame, Tec. Interacting with the projector ends the game.
