Overview
August is the main character of Memorial Playground.
Appearance
August has thick shoulder-length dark brown hair and black eyes. When awake, he wears a striped dark green shirt with gray pants.
When dreaming, he wears a gray hat, purple tinted glasses, a lighter green coat over his shirt, sandy-yellow pants and gray boots. His hair also gains a green tint at the ends.
Personality
August is clearly not much of a talker, but he does reply to some people he interacts with. Looking at his house he seems to be a tidy person and only needs some posters to brighten up his room.
Past
Not much is known about the August's past. His dreams seem to portray part of his past memories but some might be fears. He seems to have been lonely as a child and might've had a serious accident. August seems to be more of a cat person and maybe afraid of dogs. Or he feels like he grew astranged of them, either way they are all portrayed as scary in his current dreams. One Monster might've been a pet dog of his, that he forgot about. Dogs clearly like his younger self as they are seen to follow him when the Child Effect is equipped and they bark a heart at him.
Some of August's dreams contain themes of being watched and sadness, hinting to depression and/or other mental illnesses. His potentional depression is the most portayed in the school area, hinting to his school life having been very troubling. That, togheter with being alone even at home, he is probably a very introverted person. The pink guy (The Guy) in his dreams might've been a friend or a reflection with how he reacts when approached. August never seems to want to reply to him despite this.
The internet is also a big theme in his dreams, the Back Radar world is the biggest hub for it. There we see his history of self-expression and internet friends. Due being alone in his surroundings he probably spend a lot of time online to look for friendship, he might've met The Guy via here as well and then found out they went to the same school.
