Effects Guide

Nurse (护士)

Become a nurse. You can inject medicine into NPCs.

Appearance: Aiko wears a nurse's outfit.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (A) Aiko records information on a chart.

Location: Found in the Hospital.

Practical Uses: This effect allows Aiko to kill NPCs (which sometimes leave behind money to use at vending machines) and trigger events.

Having the Devil effect is recommended.

In the nexus, enter the red rose door. Head northwest (more west than north) and enter the bloody wrought-iron gates. Here, avoid the chaser and enter the pill bottle. Continue until you enter a Hospital. There, head right and enter the second door. Pick up the nurse's outfit on the gurney.

Devil (恶魔)

Become a devil. You can fly and move faster.

Appearance: Aiko turns into a devil with red horns, wings, and a tail.

Passive Effect: Aiko's movement speed is increased.

Action: (A) Aiko switches between flying and walking states.

Location: Found in the Gift World.

Practical Uses: Can be used to travel through the dream world a lot faster and avoid chasers.

In the nexus, enter the pink door with a gold bow. From the door, head east and a bit north until you see a large pink present with a gold ribbon, then go north. Interact with the devil NPC.

Rose Dress (玫瑰礼服)

Wear this beautiful, cursed gown. When the branches and thorns of the roses penetrate deeply into the flesh, they will slow down movement.

Appearance: Aiko wears a red rose dress with roses growing from her.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (A) More flower bloom from Aiko, causing her to bleed and slowing her speed.

Location: Found in the Rose Garden.

Practical Uses: None.

Having the Devil effect is recommended.

In the Hospital, travel up the stairs all the way to the roof. There, go right and through the door. Enter the flower arch. Equip the Devil effect and avoid the multiple chasers. Many paths are very narrow which makes it easy for chasers to surround Aiko. Navigate to the gazebo located southwest of the entrance. Enter it and collect the red dress.

Spider (蜘蛛)

Become a spider. You can enter small spaces.

Appearance: Aiko becomes a spider monster.

Passive Effect: When small, Aiko can fit through small entrances.

Action: (A) Aiko transforms into a small spider.

Location: Found in the Spider's Web.

Practical Uses: Can be used to access new areas and unlock a wallpaper.

Enter the green doors with flowers in the nexus to get to the Lily of the Valley Forest. Head west until you reach a wall, then go north and then south. Interact with the tree with a noose. Head a bit south and then west and interact with a spider web. For this puzzle, interact with the blue butterfly, then red, blue, the opposite blue, green, and lastly, the spider.

Star (明星)

Your head will become very dazzling and can illuminate dark areas.

Appearance: Aiko's head becomes a star.

Passive Effect: Dark areas are lit up.

Action: (A) The screen flashes yellow.

Location: Found in the Star Forest.

Practical Uses: Used to navigate dark areas.

Enter the leftmost dark teal door from the Nexus. Go southwest and head between two stars. Then go southeast and interact with the large, fancy star.

Siren (塞壬)

Become a siren. You can create pleasant singing with your voice and move faster in water.

Appearance: Aiko becomes a siren with a blue tail.

Passive Effect: Aiko moves faster in the Deep Sea.

Action: (A) Aiko sings, attracting NPCs toward her.

Location: Found at the Deep Sea Shipwreck.

Practical Uses: Can be used to move NPCs.

You will need the Star effect to obtain this effect.

Enter the light blue door with bubbles in the nexus. In the Shoal, go northwest and wade into a deep area. Head west and enter some purple coral. Equip the Star effect and go northeast to exit the map. Interact with the statue.

Robot (机器人)

Become a robot. Pressing the heart-shaped button on the chest will cause you to self-destruct.

Appearance: Aiko becomes a humanoid robot.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (A) Aiko presses a button on her chest, self-destructing and returning to the nexus.

Location: Found in the Neon World.

Practical Uses: Used to warp back to the nexus.

Enter the animated neon door in the bottom right of the nexus. Go northwest and interact with the broken android on the ground in front of a larger one.

Zombie (丧尸)

He turned into a zombie and his internal organs were rotting.

Appearance: Aiko turns into a zombie.

Passive Effect: Certain NPCs may react differently

Action: (A) Aiko vomits a light blue substance.

Location: Found in the Cemetery.

Practical Uses: Used to trigger an event.

Having the Devil effect is recommended.

In the nexus, enter the leftmost dark teal door. Go northeast and enter the swan boat to get to the Moon Lake. Press the interact key to exit the cutscene. Head northwest and follow sharp objects sticking out of the water that lead to a bloody entrance. Equip the Devil effect and avoid the chaser. Go southwest and interact with the blue hand reaching out of a grave.

Concept Sketch (架构)

Become what you were before you were completed.

Appearance: Aiko becomes a concept sketch of her sprite.

Passive Effect: None.

Action: (A) Color is added to the sketch.

Location: Found in the Electric Waste Sea Cabin.

Practical Uses: None.

Enter the animated neon door in the bottom right of the nexus. Head north and go through a power button door. Here, go southeast and interact with the recycle bin. Head southeast again and through a pink door. Interact with the file icon.

Student Uniform (学生制服)

Become a student.

Appearance: Aiko wears a school uniform.

Passive Effect: Certain NPCs react differently.

Action: (A) Aiko will curtsy.

Location: Found in the School.

Practical Uses: Used to trigger an event and makes NPCs in the school freeze.

Take the swan boat to the Moon Lake. Head north, then west, then north. Continue west and then go south and then east. Go south and then west. Interact with the diamonds to get to the Umbrella World and go northeast. Interact with the Aiaigasa umbrella drawing. Go down the stairs in the school and through the door to interact with the NPC.

Events

Heterochromia Patient

In the Hospital, enter the leftmost door on the 3rd floor. Enter the room and interact with the NPC on the bed. This will temporarily prevent Aiko from waking up. To free yourself, use the interact key a few times and then you can either wake up or use the Robot effect to return to nexus.

Spider Attack

The Nurse effect is needed for this event.

In the area when you obtain the spider effect, use the Nurse effect on the spider. This will result in Aiko waking up.

Zombie and Teacher

The Zombie effect is needed for this event.

In the school, go to the top door on the second floor. Equip the Zombie effect. The teacher will run towards Aiko and spin. Interact with him in this state. To exit the full screen event, keep pressing the cancel key.

School Roof

The Nurse effect is needed for this event.

In the school, go to roof. A blond NPC will be there. When entering this area, there is a 1 in 64 chance of the NPC standing on the right edge of the roof. Equip the Nurse effect and interact with him. This event unlocks music track #48.

Graveyard Teacher

Allow yourself to get caught by the chaser in the cemetery. This will result in Aiko waking up.

Umbrella Boy

The Student Uniform effect is needed for this event.

In the Umbrella World, equip the Student Uniform effect. A boy will appear and walk towards Aiko. Interacting with him will have the two walk together under an umbrella.

Candy Puppy

The Chocolate effect is needed for this event.

In the Candy World, head north and enter the candy jar. Equip the Chocolate effect and interact with the dog. To exit the full screen event, keep pressing the cancel key.

Nightime at the Old House

In the Lily of the Valley Forest, head south and cross a bridge. Continue south and cross another bridge. Go southwest and cross a third bridge. Go southeast and then northeast. Continue until you see another bridge to cross. Go northeast and up a long bridge and go between two flowers. Enter the Old House. There are many things Aiko can interact with in the house. Head upstairs and into the bedroom at the end of the hall. There is a 1 in 64 chance when sleeping in the bed that Aiko will wake up as a younger version of herself. Head out onto the balcony.

Hateful Event

The Nurse effect is needed for this event.

Having the Devil and Robot effects is recommended.

In Old House, quite a few effects will cause the NPC there to react differently, such as the Rose Dress, Siren, and Student Uniform. When you are done here, Use the Nurse effect on the NPC. Immediately run away the way you came from. The Devil effect will help you outrun him. In the Hanging Forest, find and interact with a butterfly to get back to the Lily of the Valley Forest or use the Robot to warp back to nexus as long as you are at a safe distance from him. Continue exploring the dreamworld, as attacking this NPC triggers many miscellaneous changes in the dreamworld. For example, it will now rain in the Lily of the Valley Forest and Cemetery. Some event NPCs go missing or are found dead, such as the Heterochromia Patient and Umbrella Boy. Many chasers are also killed and replaced by this NPC. This change will stay in effect until you wake up. Getting caught by the NPC will result in a scene and Aiko waking up.
