Effect Guide (Kubotsuki)
Fast Forward
Speed up movement.
Appearance: Kubotsuki's head is replaced with a fast forward symbol.
Passive Effect: Kubotsuki's walking speed increases.
Action: (Shift) Kubotsuki's sprite becomes distorted.
Location: Found at the Cinematic Cliff.
Practical Uses: Used to travel through the dream world faster and out-speed chasers.
Enter the Surreal Park. Go south-east and walk between the green signs. Avoid the chaser, interact with the TV and exit the subarea. From here, go north-east and take the bus. Interact with the TV on the cliff.
Boombox
Have a cassette player for a head.
Appearance: Kubotsuki's head is replaced with a boombox.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Opens a sound test (ver.0.03 and older only).
Location: Found in the Classic Restaurant.
Practical Uses: None.
From where you get the Snowglobe effect, go slightly north east and go in between the metal bars. Make your way through the fancy restaurant. Interact with the boombox.
Snowglobe
Turn into a snowglobe and make snow.
Appearance: Kubotsuki becomes a snowglobe.
Passive Effect: Snow falls while this effect is equipped.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Stars and Beds World.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Stars and Beds World. Go directly right and interact with the snowglobe.
Dark Matter
Turn into dark matter that powers machines.
Appearance: Kubotsuki's color scheme is inverted.
Passive Effect: Activates the moving panels in the Waste Plant.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Waste Plant.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Static Ring World. Go south-east and through the archway. Go right to the next area. Go: Right, Down then Left. Interact with the moving blob.
Turtle
Turn into a turtle that changes your size.
Appearance: Kubotsuki becomes an anthropomorphic turtle with green skin and wearing a shell. Shift turns him into a small turtle.
Passive effect: (when small) Can enter small spaces.
Action: (shift) Switch between anthropomorphic turtle and small turtle.
Location: Found in the Eyeball Woods.
Practical Uses: Can enter spaces where Kubotsuki is normally too big to enter. Used to access pit event.
Enter the Winter Woods from the Nexus, walk down until you reach Snow Town. Take the road in front of you and go right, when you reach an intersection go up. At the next intersection go right and enter the first building you see on that road (it's a small building with a fence to the right of it and a tree in front of it). Once in the building enter the first wooden door you see. This will bring you into a bedroom with a canopy bed and many flower pots on the floor, enter the door on the other side of the room. This will bring you to a hallway, enter the door surrounded by vines. Interact with the archway in the middle of the room.
Once in the Eyeball Woods take the dirt path up and follow until you reach another fork and go up, at the next fork go straight and cross the bridge. The dirt path ends at a campfire, go up between the trees here and cross another bridge. At the crossroads go left and take the dirt path once on land again. At the next fork go up and interact with the turtle in front of the lake.
Lamppost
Generate light.
Appearance: Kubotsuki's head is replaced with a lamppost.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Lamppost World.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Lamppost World. Go north-east and interact with the lamppost that has a question mark on it.
Box
Hide in a box to return to the Nexus.
Appearance: Kubotsuki carries a box.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Kubotsuki hides in the box and is warped to the Nexus.
Location: Found in the Glitched House.
Practical Uses: Used to quickly return to the Nexus.
Enter the Moonlit Islands. Go north and interact with the floating gold specks to be teleported. When you reach a two-way path, choose the bottom orb then interact with the one on your right. Cross the bridge, interact with the orb then enter the doorway.
Enter the door across from you. Once outside, go right and enter the house. Go into the hallway then enter the door furthest to the right. Go up the stairs. Walk down to the end of the hall. Interact with the open box.
Seer
See what's hidden for normal eyes.
Appearance: Kubotsuki wears a dark purple hooded robe with gold detailing, the hood is worn up and has a gold eye symbol on it. He also carries a brown tome and a gold and black staff.
Passive effect: Allows Kubotsuki to see hidden objects.
Action: (shift) Makes him lift his staff and drop it onto the ground, creating a small shockwave.
Location: found on The Seer's Room
Practical Uses: Allows Kubotsuki to see hidden objects.
Enter Winter Woods and walk down until you enter Snow Town.
- (if you have the turtle effect) take a left on the road in front of you, walk down at the intersection and turn right at the next intersection. the first 2 buildings you see on this block will have a fence with a hole between them. Use the turtle effect here to go through the hole in the fence.
- (if you don't have the turtle effect) take a right on the road in front of you, walk upwards when you get to the first intersection, when you get to the next intersection turn left. Enter the first building you see. Walk to the left-most back room and interact with the fireplace. On the rooftop there will be 4 chimneys, interact with the top-right chimney. Inside, walk to the left-most room and interact with the fireplace. On the rooftop there will be 2 chimneys, interact with the right one. Exit this building through the door on the left.
Interact with the hole in the ground. Walk down and a bit right until you find a large stair case going down into the ground. Walk down it and then walk up the hill until you find a meditating figure, interact with it to receive the seer effect.
Effect Guide (Totsutsuki)
Star
Become a shining star fit for the night sky!
Appearance: Totsutsuki's head is replaced with a star.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Totsutsuki is warped to the Nexus.
Location: Found inside the Cave in Broken World.
Practical Uses: Used to quickly return to the Nexus.
Enter Broken World. Go north-east and under a pink structure. In the Cave, interact with the yellow symbol.
Music Box
Play a song with your head!
Appearance: Totsutsuki's head is replaced with a music box.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: (Shift) Opens a sound test (ver.0.03 and older only).
Location: Found on the Dark Path.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Rainy Garden. Go down and take the south path then when it splits off, take the path going left. Enter the door and interact with the book on the floor. Walk across the Powerline Path and enter the barn. Interact with the book on the floor. Go left and interact with the music box.
Lily of the Valley
The tears of a lady. This plant's extremely toxic.
Appearance: Totsutsuki becomes a Lily of the Valley.
Passive Effect: NPC's will move away from Totsutsuki.
Action: (Z) When interacting with a NPC, Totsutsuki will attack them with a cloud of poison.
Location: Found in the Rainy Garden.
Practical Uses: Allows you to kill NPC's.
Enter the Rainy Garden. Go down and take the path to your left. Interact with the Lily of the Valley at the end of the path.
Cape
Just like a superhero!
Appearance: Totsutsuki wears a cape.
Passive Effect: Totsutsuki's walking speed increases.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Gusty World.
Practical Uses: Used to travel through the dream world faster.
Enter the Gusty World. Go up and where the path splits, go right and interact with the flag.
UV Light
Become an ultra violet light!
Appearance: Totsutsuki's head is replaced with a UV light.
Passive Effect: Reveals hidden objects.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Violet Cave.
Practical Uses: Allows player to find hidden objects/paths.
Enter the Gusty World. Go down and when the path splits, take a left then take the path underneath going right. Interact with the green paintbrush. Go down again and take a right where the path splits before going up again. Interact with the tin of dark blue paint. Go right to the next area and interact with the UV light on the ground.
Sunflower
A smiling flower!
Appearance: Totsutsuki's head is replaced with a Sunflower.
Passive Effect: None.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Flora Laboratory.
Practical Uses: None.
(UV Light is needed) Enter the Star Field. Go south-east and enter the house. Go down the stairs. Equip the UV Light effect and enter the door at the end of the hall. Navigate your way through the lab and find a room with a big sunflower. Interact with the sunflower.
If you're having trouble navigating the Flora Laboratory, you can use the map provided in this section. Enter the lab. When you get to a room with 3 archways, take the rightmost one, in the next room take the upper right, then take the right, then upper right, take the right (should be your only option), take the center, and then take the right exit, from here each room will only have 2 exits, so just take the one you did not enter from. In the last room you'll find the big sunflower.
Nightcap
Sleepy in a dream?
Appearance: Totsutsuki wears a nightcap.
Passive Effect: Totsutsuki's walking speed decreases.
Action: None.
Location: Found in the Sky Walkway.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Star Field. Go north-west and between the square pillars. Follow the path going down. When the path starts to split, first take the path going down then the one going left. Interact with the NPC wearing the nightcap.
Mermaid
Swim like a mermaid
Appearance: Totsutsuki becomes a mermaid with blue hair, blue tinted skin and a purple and teal mermaid tail.
Passive Effect: Totsutsuki's walking speed increases when under water.
Action: (shift) Totsutsuki sings.
Location: Found in the sea palace.
Practical Uses: None.
Enter the Magenta Mansion (green flower door), walk down until you exit the map. Walk down the pathway until you reach the red forest. At the first fork walk downward, pass by the bridge and walk around the nearby trees and walk upward on the dirt path. Keep walking until you see a pier next to a whirl pool. Walk to the end of the pier and interact to jump in the whirlpool. Once underwater search for a silver plumbob shaped NPC. Interact with it to teleport to the sea palace.
Once in the house start from the door found upstairs. Take the left exit, then take the left exit, take the door up the stairs take the only door in the room, take the right exit, take the right exit again, take the door on the right, take the door on the right again, take the double doors atop the stairs, take the only door, take the left exit, pass by the bookshelves and take the left exit, go down the stairs through the hall and up another set of stairs and exit through the door. This should take you to a dark bedroom with a ghostly mermaid NPC, interact with the NPC to get the mermaid effect.
Event Guide (Kubotsuki)
Pit Event
(Turtle is needed) Follow the route to the turtle effect until you reach the crossroads on the bridge, instead of going left go up. You will see a gap in the fence. Enter the gap by equipping the turtle effect and pressing shift to become small. The Event will play automatically once your on the other side. At the end of the event there does not appear to be a way out, so you'll need to either wake up or use the box effect to leave.
Kuboa Event (ver.0.02 and older only)
Mess with the light switch in Kubotsuki's Dream Room until the colors change, then interact with the TV and pinch yourself awake.
