Overview

Jigoku Nagashi - Little Dream (地獄流し, Hell Flow) is an English Yume Nikki fangame by eluminusshallotte. First created with RPG Maker VX, it then was remade in RPG Maker VX Ace.

According to the author, an extension of the game, “Jigoku Nagashi: Kitsune no Sagashi” (Hell Flow: Locate the Fox/Search for the Fox) is in development. However, as they didn't post anything new about it, the project was more than likely abandoned.

Gameplay

Jigoku Nagashi plays like a traditional fangame. The player can enter the dream world by using the Teleporting Skill from the menu. Interacting with the sign in the dream subway station gives players a list of worlds to explore. The goal of the game is to find and obtain Skills. This fangame has some non-traditional elements such as combat and an item shop. Saving can be done from the menu.

Technical Difficulties

The Full Version requires a copy of RGSS202E.dll as part of RPG Maker VX. If RPG Maker VX is not installed on the system and this error occurs, the following solutions should be considered:

  • Open Game.ini and replace "Library=RGSS200E.dll" with "Library=RGSS202E.dll" (without quotes) (Source)
  • Download a RGSS202E.dll file and put it in the system32 folder, then register it manually.

Trivia

  • The current remake version of the game uses music from various video games and anime including Yume Nikki, Yume Nikki Gensou, Angel Beats and Shugo Chara!. These tracks are listed in the game's KNS Credits.txt file.
  • Posters of the fangames Nightmare Castle and Me, as well as NASU from Yume Nikki, appear at both the Train Station and Subway Station.
