Jason never actually harmed Annabelle. But he is a creep who constantly tells Annabelle what he wants her to become without considering what she wants to do. Due to Annabelle's discoursed thoughts, she ended up exaggerating Jason's intentions both to Melody and to herself, leading to Melody assuming the worse about Jason.
