Rebuilding the front page?
have you guys ever thought of rebuilding the front page?
i have no idea who the founder of this wiki is or if its even possible, but everything i jsut really....outdated and kinda.... idk
like im pretty sure this is the default color scheme for wikis and idk it kinda...bothers me when you compare it to other wikis....(its really..... unprofessional??? i guess i mean this wiki is p unprofessional already but hehe yeah.....) it would be cool if we had a banner too but i dont want to change anything if you guys arent cool with it....im no logo/photoshop expert either (just look at the button i made for "browse characters"....hahahha.....) but maybe we should consider changing the layout at least???
idk for replacing the rss feed, i was thinking about putting a mini-directory up of new and upcoming fangames/devblogs, and if some tumblr's have it, put hteir rss feed up 2??? heck idk but its kinda painful to look at that rss feed (ah the days of uboachan..... which is now pretty much a wasteland)
yeah idk man just... thoughts!!!! brainstormin!!!! procrastinating! hahah yeah....

yeah no idea who admins this and i believe you need admin access to change the theme so that's why i left it blue and drab...

yeah i checked who the founder was (also only admin) was and there was like n o way of getting in touch with them so i applied for admin + bureaucrat rights n stuff and actually got it annd changed some stuff if thats alright??? hhhhh im glad you like it yo ;v;

Can I start adding galleries to the fangame pages? I'm aways really curious to see what the games looks like.
Especially games I can't understand and will never play them. D;
Also, I was wondering if you guys consider Mad Father and those type games as being fangames..?

Hello! I am assume this is SpiderRolling (please remember to sign your posts with the signature option!)
and I actually would prefer you not to do that due to how far behind this wiki is, the main focus is updating extremely old articles (see madoro-mu and double dream for some really bad ones) and many missing pages.
I really like the idea of adding a gallery of screencaps, but adding little details like that will slow down the process of just even getting this wiki up to date.... (I'm serious..... I've thought about doing this too, but I just want you to realize that if we add a gallery section to the Yume Nisshi article, we have to add one to ALL other fangame articles too! Not to mention there are some fangame pages not even up yet...) Also understanding of Japanese is rarely needing in Japanese Fangames, and most people play them in Japanese. Very few games have actual dialouge other than the instructions and effect names, so they are pretty easy to navigate. If you need help getting Japanese fangames running, there is a Technical Difficulties page, and if you are in need of further assistance, please let me know and I can try and help to the best of my ability!
Mad Father, The Witch's House, Ib, Ao Oni, Lisa and other misc. games are not fangames, they are RPG Maker games, Original creations with no link to Yume Nikki other than being made in RPG Maker (Mad Father isn't even made in one of the RPG Maker programs, it's a WOLF RPG game). Please respect that they are an original work an not Yume Nikki fangames!
I am glad for your contibutions, (people very rarely update this wiki, or at least activly update it) but please try and help with the articles that are... in need of help I guess you could say? Popular aticles like .flow, 2kki, LCDDEM and Nisshi are pretty much complete, but many other game pages are very outdated and in need of help!
I Apolozie for the length wall of text, but please understand how much work this wiki still needs!

I figured as much about mad father and what not.
If you write somewhere a list of games that need updating or need to be added I'd gladly help as much as I can. I really love the idea of this wikia and I feel that yn fangames desperately need something like this to organize it all. :)

Haha no problem! (I really like what you did for the characters part of .flow, at some point maybe there will be seperate pages for npcs but I'm not too sure yet. And I do like the idea of screencaps and I didn't want to delete it because it is a really good idea!)
I updated the list on the About page with games that are in need of help and added the ones you listed! Thank you so much for helping, I think what turns some people off about htis wiki is how much work needs to be done, so no one really ends up editing it haha.... and yes! I agree totally! :D

Spoiler Tab Disscussion
(moved to a new topic to prevent clutter from the Main Page talk) i was wondering the same thing SpiderRolling! I have little knowledge of Wikia coding/formatting, if anyone can help with this it would be greatly apperciated! I have made sort of "Fake" spoilers by changing the text color to white, andthe person can highlight it view the spoiler though haha.... (forexample on the Takashi (たかし) page, his past is spoiled with this "fake methood" but actual spoiler tags would be super useful! When I get the chance I'll look into trying to add more templates, thanks for your input and contributions to the wiki! (seriously you have been a great help :D ! )

I'm not too knowledgable on this either. I was looking at that elder scrolls page again and I realized it was a temlate... so if we make a new template and copy and paste the coding (when you press edit) from there and put it in ours would it come out like that? e_o I dunno!

Ideas
I've had a lot of free time cuz there was a snow storm here haha! I came up with some things that could be added in the (near? we're almost done catching up) future.
One is a newsfeed for game updates and what not. I'm not sure the options for something like this, but I've seen some wikis do it with blog posts and I've seen it on the side of the pages as well.
Another thing is badges. I personally love them and find myself editing certain blogs just to get them. We could just tweak the titles to yume nikki lingo and I could make the badge images if you want. I'm not very skilled, but I figure something pixilated should fit and maybe known characters and npcs could be placed in them to set them apart.
The last thing I was thinking about is the developers. Um make a "Developer" categry and when you click on it you are taken to the developer's sub category with some info on top and their games listed underneath.
These are just ideas so if you don't like them you can pretend you never saw this haha!

Oh I see haha I was wondering how you had so much time to get pages up 'o' !!! (yes!!! thanks to you we are very close to catching up i can feel it!!!)
I had an idea of putting a slider under the welcome banner (similar to here ) where it would alert people of game updates, new releases/translations ect.. here is a mockup of what one slide would look like? (or it could be used to showcase screencaps of the featured article/game....)
and badges??? Sure! I'm implement badges right away! (I'm guessing we would go from lesser known fangame characters->more well known + NPCS ect? That sounds like a super cool idea!!!
and yeah, there have been quite a few requests for a developers category, I talked about some plans for future updates here , I was thinking of possibly making a tumblr too for the wiki for game updates/reblogging information but i'm not too sure how it would work out....
but yeah developers!!! also a new template for developers should be made too I guess? or is that not needed.....i'm not too sure what to put for their picture anyway but it would be kinda weird not to have one haha....
