Overview

Answered Prayers is a Yume Nikki fangame made by Klaufir in RPG Maker 2003.

One of the more well-known English fangames, Answered Prayers is also one of the 'lighter' Yume Nikki fangames. This game has plenty of areas to explore, with little gore/blood compared to many other Yume Nikki derivatives. As of Version 0.03, the game has been put on hiatus, according to the official website.

Gameplay

Answered Prayers plays like a traditional fangame. Praying at the shrine lets you enter the spirit world. From there, there are various areas that you can explore. Your main goal is to find all of the effects (called Prayers in this game). Save by interacting with the well in the shrine.

Controls

  • Move - Arrow Keys
  • Interact/Select - Z/Space
  • Open Menu/Cancel - X/Esc
  • Effect Action - Shift
  • Return to Shrine - 9

Plot

The game's protagonist is Fluorette, a girl who has run away from her home. Getting caught in a storm, she takes refuge in a strange little shrine. She refuses to leave the shrine once she has entered it because the storm is too strong, so the player has no choice but to explore the spirit world with Fluorette.

Throughout the game are symbols of Fluorette's religion (priestesses, Buddhist swastikas, etc.) as well as spirits and other supernatural beings.
