Overview
Dream "ID" Journey is a Japanese Yume Nikki fangame created by S.Izumina in WOLF RPG Editor, and is available to play in English.
Gameplay
Dream "ID" Journey is a traditional fangame. Interacting with the machine in the middle of the main room sends the player to the Dream ROM (D-ROM), the game's equivalent of the dream world. There are ten starting worlds in the D-ROM and 24 effects to find. Players can save by returning to the main room and interacting with the data storage machine to the right.
Similar to Natsumi Kokochi (夏見心地), the game operates on a calendar-like system with each "dream" causing a day to pass. The ending is determined by certain actions the player has fulfilled before leaving the D-ROM on the thirtieth day. A score is kept which can be seen by interacting with the floating figure to the left of the giant red orb in the D-ROM's hub. Finding effects, killing NPCs and seeing events increases the player's score, while getting caught by chasers decreases it. The amount of steps the player has taken is also tracked.
Effects will be listed in the inventory in order of obtainment. This order can be adjusted by pressing Shift while in the Effects menu, moving the cursor to another effect, and pressing Z. The menu graphic can be changed by interacting with the floating NPC to the right of the giant orb in the D-ROM hub.
