Overview

TRIAL is a Japanese Yume Nikki fangame made by Nekonoha Yashiro in Wolf RPG Editor. TRIAL has an unusually large number of effects compared to most fangames, the most recent version containing 28 effects.

Gameplay

Like most fangames, the player starts off in the protagonist's room. The dream world is entered by sleeping in the bed and the computer is used to save. Interacting with the console on the floor lets the player listen to the game's soundtrack.

Like in every traditional fangame, the goal is to collect effects, which in this game are called Lost Items / Lost Properties (落し物). The player needs to gather them all and drop them in the Nexus, like in Yume Nikki.

As of ver.0.8.0a, this game has 6 endings, which can be activated by collecting at least 22 effects. The creator has stated that the game will have 8 endings in total.

Winged/Angel
(翼人) 		TrialEff15.png Suzutsuki has blonde hair, blue eyes, white wings, and a white outfit. Pressing A makes her float above the ground.
Demon
(悪魔) 		TrialEff14.png The weapon effect. Suzutsuki has gray skin along with purple hair, wings and outfit. Pressing A makes Suzutsuki swing some kind of blade through the air.
Light of Heart
(心光) 		TrialEff13.png Suzutsuki holds a red orb in her hands. Pressing A makes the orb light up, making it easier to travel through dark areas.
Maihime/Priestess
(舞姫) 		TrialEff18.png Suzutsuki wears a fox mask and a shrine maiden/miko's outfit and she has long grey hair tied in a ponytail. The sound she makes while walking is different. Pressing A makes her take off the mask for a second.
Collar
(くびわ) 		TrialEff07.png Suzutsuki has red hair, dog ears and tail. She also wears a red collar with a bell. Pressing A makes her bark.
Snow Bunny
(ゆきうさぎ) 		TrialEff05.png Suzutsuki turns white; she has leaf ears, red eyes and she wears a purple skirt. Snow falls when this effect is equipped.
Railway Crossing Gate
(遮断機) 		TrialEff10.png Suzutsuki turns into a flat railway crossing signal. Equipping this effect will stop the NPC's movement. The red signals flash as she walks.
Student's Cap
(学生帽) 		TrialEff11.png Suzutsuki has short dark blue hair and she wears an old-fashioned male school uniform with a cap. Equipping this effect will stop chasers from following you.
Injury
(怪我) 		TrialEff08.png Suzutsuki wears an eyepatch, a plaster cast on her right hand and bandages on her left foot. This effect makes her walk slower.
Box
(匣) 		TrialEff04.png Suzutsuki has a square head. Pressing A turns her into a brown box and stealth from the chasers. She cannot move in this form.
Sniper Rifle
(狙撃銃) 		TrialEff06.png Suzutsuki carries a sniper rifle. Pressing A makes her aim with it and lets you choose the part of the screen that you want to shoot at. Pressing Enter makes her shoot it.
Blindness
(盲目) 		TrialEff09.png Suzutsuki becomes blind with blood (marks) under her eyes. Pressing A makes the area around her darker; pressing it again toggles exactly how badly you see your surroundings.

(串刺し) 		TrialEff02.png Suzutsuki is impaled on a red pole.

(九尾) 		TrialEff03.png Suzutsuki turns into a fox goddess. She has blond hair, nine fox tails and fox ears. She wears a green outfit. Pressing A makes many large purple arms appear behind her for a split second.

Tuning Fork

One-Armed
(隻腕) 		TrialEff19.png Suzutsuki has only a single but big arm. Pressing A makes her burn with fire, allowing her to melt snow.
Iron Chain
(鉄鎖) 		TrialEff20.png Suzutsuki is tied up by an iron chain.
Headphones
(ヘッドホン) 		TrialEff21.png Suzutsuki wears headphones.
Mermaid
(人魚) 		TrialEff23.png Suzutsuki becomes a mermaid. Suzutsuki will swim faster in the water but move slower on the land.
Bath Towel
(バスタオル) 		TrialEff24.png Suzutsuki wears a bath towel. Pressing A will make the towel slip down a little and Suzutsuki will tidy the towel back.

(ノーデータ) 		TrialEff25.png Suzutsuki becomes a gray and black shadow with horizontal lines. Pressing A will make Suzutsuki fade out with static and stealth from the chasers.

Sailor Suit
