Debris is a traditional-style fangame with a videogame glitch motif.
Although Debris stays true to the nature of traditional Yume Nikki fangames, it adds a few new things such as having a locked door in the nexus and an extra playable portion with a different character.
==Effects (wip)==
NOTE: This is only the effects that are in the game. There are others which appear to have sprites, but do not have any programming associated with them.

'''Gong:''' This effect makes rain by pressing shift. To get it, go to the gray ash world (gray door w/white). Go south and into the face. On the grass house, go right and even more right. On the white hall, go in the door, and into the space between four holes. You should be on a purple island. Head right and up and pass between the other sponges. There should be a village nearby. Go on the south-right house, and interact with the spark to recieve the effect.

'''Beast: '''This makes the main character into a black monster that can roar by pressing shift. For getting it, go to the pink door, right until you see a fourth tree, then down to interact with the flower. On the next room, go up. You should be on a glitchy maze. Go to the left exit to arrive at the bottom of the sea. Go south until you see 8 red corals arranged in 4, side by side. Go right until you find a blue hole. Go down then left and interact with the rusted metal thing to get the effect.

'''Mirror:''' Acts as the stoplight effect of the game. To get it, follow the guideline to the Beast effect, but enter the hole. On the blue maze, go south, then right at the second fork, then up, right and down at the third fork. Go into the door and left. A cutscene of Tatsuki drowning will happen (don't worry, she's fine.). On the Snow world, go down, then left and interact with the moving arms to get the effect.

Overview

Debris (also known as Debris Dream) is a Japanese fangame made by Harinezumi in RPG Maker 2000. It has glass and glitch motifs that are likely connected to the title, Debris, meaning scattered remains of trash or wreckage. The game is known for its many events and attention to detail.

Gameplay

Like most Yume Nikki fangames, the protagonist refuses to leave their room, but has a balcony and video game console with a game called Yoke. The player saves in what appears to be a diary or journal, and enters the dream world by sleeping in the bed.

Although Debris stays true to the nature of traditional Yume Nikki fangames, it adds a few new things such as having a locked door in the nexus and an extra playable portion with a different character.

Controls

  • Move - Arrow Keys
  • Interact/Select - Z/Space
  • Open Menu/Cancel - X/Esc
  • Effect Action - Shift

Plot

You begin the game playing as an idiot (according to their description in the game's menu) named Tatsuki. Debris starts out like most fangames, but focuses heavily on events and the environment to explain Tatsuki and their possible personality/past.

After collecting all the effects, you unlock another section where you play as Lefia for the other two endings. Debris can end in four ways, with only one being the "True END".
