You take the role of [[Sanagi (さなぎ)|Sanagi]], a child who lives with her mother. You can enter her dream world from the ''reality'' by exiting her house and interacting with one of the 4 items outside it (that place serves as a nexus). During the game you can lose physical strength and vision sharpness by coming in contact with certain NPCs and chasers. You can buy or find items to regain your strength and vision if necessary. Aside of 12 effects to collect, you also can obtain a large variety of items and achievements. Just like in an RPG game, Sanagi has levels that go up as you gain more Experince points. If Sanagi dies in her dream, she will wake up in her bed in "reality". The game can be saved only outside of her dreams, by interacting with Sanagi's mother.

Overview

GOCCO is a half-RPG Yume Nikki fangame made by Ninfea/Nymphea (にんふぇあ) (Pixiv). According to the readme file, the current version (0,07) is the final. The creator promised that they will not update it any further and will only release bug fixes to the current version (if needed).

Gameplay

You take the role of Sanagi, a child who lives with her mother. You can enter her dream world from the reality by exiting her house and interacting with one of the 4 items outside it (that place serves as a nexus). During the game you can lose physical strength and vision sharpness by coming in contact with certain NPCs and chasers. You can buy or find items to regain your strength and vision if necessary. Aside of 12 effects to collect, you also can obtain a large variety of items and achievements. Just like in an RPG game, Sanagi has levels that go up as you gain more Experience points. If Sanagi dies in her dream, she will wake up in her bed in "reality". The game can be saved only outside of her dreams, by interacting with Sanagi's mother.

Plot

The protagonist of this game, Sanagi, lives with her mother in a small house at the water's edge. Her house has only one room which contains a bed, a table with two stools and a small kitchen, where her mother spends most of her time. There are 4 items located outside of her house which teleport her to different places in her dream. According to the Esc. menu, Sanagi is a young child. This fact is confirmed by a dream location referred to as "Kindergarten", which has one separate room where a transparent kindergarten teacher appears to be brushing (a transparent) Sanagi's hair.

Effects

Name Image Description
Fire Iron (ひかきぼう) GOCCOEff04.PNG The game's weapon effect, is used to kill NPCs. Sanagi holds a gray fire iron, pressing the D key causes her to swing it. Some NPCs will run away from you, while others will become aggressive. Chasers are much faster when this effect is equipped.
Crown (おうかん) GOCCOEff05.PNG Sanagi wears a crown on the side of her head, pressing the D key causes her to chuckle.
Pointed Hat (とんがりぼうし) GOCCOEff03.PNG Sanagi wears a dark blue dress, a matching pointed hat and black boots. Pressing the D key makes her eyes glow red while she spins, this significantly slows down chasers and cause other NPCs to stop or change their form.
Vacuum cleaner (そうじき) GOCCOEff10.PNG Sanagi turns into a pink vacuum cleaner. Press D to attract NPCs to you.
Wire (はりがね) GOCCOEff08.PNG Sanagi's eyes and limbs are grey, the later are also very thin and long. She also has a grey wire on her dress instead of the usual red heart.
Ice (こおり) GOCCOEff02.PNG The game's snow effect. Sanagi wears a light blue dress with a snowflake. Pressing the D key makes it snow. Pressing it again stops the snow.
Headset (ヘッドセット) GOCCOEff06.PNG Sanagi wears a pink headset. Pressing the D key makes them play a sound.
Dot (ドット) GOCCOEff07.PNG Aka Sanatsuki (さなつき). Sanagi is drawn in Madotsuki's style.
Mosaic (モザイク) GOCCOEff09.PNG Sanagi appears in large pixels.
Female Doctor (じょい) GOCCOEff01.PNG Sanagi wears a white shirt and skirt and has a stethoscope around her neck. Pressing the D key converts all of your mental strength into physical strength by consuming it. In another words, it heals you by consuming all of your mental strength points.
