Overview
POSTMORTEM is a Rōblox exploration and adventure game created by ÆTERNUM*, inspired by Yume Nikki, Yume 2kki, Hylics, Dream Game and Sun, moon, and star. to these i bid adieu. It is based on the exploration of a "limbo" of sorts, that is located in the life after death.
The game is unraveled through the protagonist's eternal wandering, in a hunt for knowledge and answers regarding his identity and his past. The storyline is told through clues, small details and dialogue, and more of the world opens as you adventure deeper.
Gameplay
POSTMORTEM is a singleplayer game with a heavy emphasis on exploration. It has a flow akin to other Yume Nikki fangames, where you must wander the game's different locations through multiple teleports. Throughout your jorney, you can find NPCs, quests, badges, unlockable items, checkpoints, secrets, lore drops and some beautiful sightings.
Items, which can be obtained through certain achievements, can help you directly (such as "Initiation", which gives you a speed boost) or grant you access to deeper parts of the game. Some of the items also provide the player with more details about the storyline, such as "Recollection", which reveals the ghosts of other characters across the entire game.

Plot
You play as a philosopher who has just woke up in the afterlife, after dying from an unknown cause. With no proper greetings, you must roam through this realm in order to find explanations, and a proper objective. Many NPCs have dialogue or quests that along with giving you badges or unlocks, also provide explanations regarding the protagonist's past life and the game's universe.
A lot of the lore is told through metaphors and small details, and as you wander deeper, the storyline reveals itself and the game becomes progressively more abstract.
POSTMORTEM is still a work in progress, so there are no endings yet. Content updates that expand the game are being released in real time.
