Overview

Rain And Red Roses is an English Yume Nikki fangame created for Dream Diary Jam 4 by Strung Up Starlight. It is a remake of The Crash: Storm Clouds of the Mind, this time in RPG Maker 2003. Like its predecessor, it primarily uses Alice in Wonderland as its theme mixed with 1960's aesthetic.

Gameplay

Rain And Red Roses is a traditional fangame. You enter the dream world by sleeping in the bed. The goal is to explore and collect effects, with the option to collect four counts of red paint as well, which unlocks a different ending. You save using the typewriter in the bedroom.

Plot

You play as Hargreaves, a college student in 1968 who is under a lot of academic and societal pressure, but pushes away potential help. The night before a history test, a thunderstorm shakes her campus, and she begins having odd dreams.

Effects

Effect	Image	Description
Plastic Flamingo		Hargreaves's head becomes a plastic flamingo, with her arms and legs becoming garden stakes. Pressing Shift makes her shriek and causes the NPCs to freeze
Mushroom		Hargreaves becomes a mushroom, which allows her to fit into small spaces. Pressing Shift makes her change color.
Cheshire Grin		Hargreaves becomes a grinning shadowy figure. Pressing Shift returns her to the Nexus.
Mod Dress		Hargreaves dons an orange and white mod dress. Pressing Shift attracts NPCs.
Thunderstorm		Hargreaves summons a storm. Pressing Shift changes the intensity of the rain, and interacting with Chasers kills them.
