Past

It's difficult to tell what time period Yomika lives in due to the anachronisms in her dreams: cities with a subway appear alongside traditional myths (the Tengu effect's location, for example). The Erhu effect's location suggests that Yomika was abused.

She appears to have some emotional connection with the game's chaser. It's possible, based on events in Yomika's Dream Room, the Oni Field Memory, and the Dark Apartment Rooftop (among others), that the chaser is based off someone she knew in the waking world who is now dead, perhaps even by Yomika's own hand. Due to the heavy resemblance between the two, the chaser could even be Yomika's sister.
