Overview

Deathbed Lullabye is an English fan game created by EBroxas72 and Laeaurra Flamehawk. Made in RPG Maker VX Ace.

It is a game created for Dream Diary Jam 5. This game takes place in the same universe as Ritual Denial, an upcoming YNFG by the same developers.

Gameplay

Deathbed Lullabye plays similarly to a traditional fangame. How it differs from traditional fangames is due to how the player only has 7 opportunities to enter the dream world before they are forced to trigger an ending.

The player can choose to activate a "loop" after triggering an ending, sending the player back to night 1. how ever doing so will cause the player to lose all items/effects/hears/ relevant to the story or achieving any endings. but the player will keep any items or effects that are not deemed as not needed for the story.

The dream world changes across the 7 nights, with events, npcs, and locations becoming accessible and inaccessible depending on what night it is.

In this game you collects "Hearts" alongside effect. Hearts act like the Orbs you see in fan games like Me or LCDDEM. Collecting hearts will affect the endings in a future update.

Plot

In the year 2004 with in a hospital in Mexico City, you play as “Teicuh Maria Yayauhqui Calli,” age 37. A widow and musician. she is also terminally ill, and is full of regrets about the questionable life she lived. By the start of the game she only has 7 days to live before she succumbs to her illness. During the day time the player can speak to Teicuh's younger sister and only living family member Carlita "Karbi" Calli, age 24. And the comforting apparition of "Santa Muerte" a figure who shows up to those nearing death.

During the night the player explores the dream world of Teicuh. With in her dream world the player slowly unravels and pieces together the backstory of this very troubled woman, and attempt to make her be at peace with the troubled life she lived before the player is forced to trigger an ending on night 7. And watch as she ether passes on peacefully or end up in purgatory.

Rudie		The first speed effect in the game, Teicuh straps on some rollerblades and wears an outfit inspired by Beat from Jet Set Radio. When hitting shift the player can spray the ground with graffiti which acts as a landmark effect.
Jackie's soul		The second speed effect in the game, Teicuh rides on the back of the large ghostly reincarnation of her childhood dog Jackie. Who is a Xoloitzcuintli dog. When the player hits shift Jackie will bark and will light up the screen. This will light up dark areas acting like a lamp effect.
Lady of the night		Changes the outfits Teicuh is wearing, and she will now be carrying a purse. Pressing shift will cause her to become a stylized purple and red color scheme.
Obsidian butterfly		Transforms Teicuh into an avatar of the Aztec Goddess Ītzpāpālōtl, (Her name translates to "Obsidian Butterfly"). Currently, pressing shift makes you flap her wings.
Poppy		Transforms Teicuh into a plant monster wrapped in, and made of poppy flowers and vines. The flowers and vines are mainly sprouting from her wrists. Currently, pressing shift will play a sound effect.
