Overview
Dream Diary Quest is an English fangame created by MorpheusKitami for Dream Diary Jam 5. The game was developed in Adventure Game Studio.
Gameplay
Dream Diary Quest is a mix between a point-and-click adventure game and a traditional Yume Nikki fangame. Interacting with the bed takes the player to the dream world. The goal of the game is to explore. To wake up, the player must switch to the interact action (represent by a hand cursor icon) and use it on themself. Interacting with the journal in the bedroom while awake allows the player to save.
The game utilizes mouse controls for interacting with the world. Aside from moving and interacting, the player also has the option of examining (represented by the magnifying glass icon) or speaking (mouth icon) to objects/NPCs in the game. The mouse cursor will flash red if hovering over an interactable object. Hovering the mouse over the top of the screen shows a menu giving player access to these options along with the inventory, instructions and options menu.
