Overview
Kagerou (影朗) (Occasionally nicknamed "Kage" by fans), is the first non-human protagonist in a Yume Nikki fangame, first making an appearance in Witoru, where he can be found in Yon Goh's dream world. Interacting with him brings up the option to join his party (only in his dreamworld). He later makes his debut as a playable character/protagonist in Kage, Souzou, In.
Appearance
Kagerou is non-human, unlike most dreamers, and seems to be some sort of shadow or spirit. It's most likely he is a shadow though, being all black with white eyes and a mouth, a spike at the top of his head, and a ghostly body/tail.
Personality
Kagerou seems to be friends with Yon Goh, and acts like a sort of guide with him. Not much is know about his personality, but he is typically shown following Yon Goh, and trying to get him out of trouble.
In Witoru's remake, he is shown being rather friendly towards Yon Goh, congratulating him for reaching to his location and also agreeing to becoming his companion, however a rare random chance event as well as his dialogue before the boss battle at the end of the demo imply he has an aggressive, sometimes downright terrifying, attitude when angered.
Past
He is first shown in Witoru, and then later appears in Kage, Souzou, In.
In his own game, he seems to have dreams similar to Yon Goh, but more traditionally Japanese-styled. Kage, Souzou, In seems to show him before he met Yon Goh, and it is possible he had problems keeping his chasers away from what seems to be a shrine.
