Overview

Cerasus (Ce-ra-soos or Che-ra-soos (Cherry in Latin) is an English Yume Nikki fangame created by Isasapiens in RPG Maker MV, for Dream Diary Jam 4.

Gameplay

Cerasus is a traditional fangame in many ways, as exiting through the door leads to the nexus, skipping the "awake" part entirely. Much like the author's previous game, Me, the game seems to center not only on collecting effects, but also on collecting "notes" and "Pwee Dolls", though said notes seem to have more use as they are used via the protagonist's accordion via pressing Shift while not having an effect and playing the commands shown on the screen.

An also unusual characteristic on this game is that you can save nearly anywhere, as well as being able to move diagonally. To add, the protagonist moves much faster than most dreamers of other fangames.

Plot

The game stars Reshnha, a tall adult man, who has apparently been spirited and trapped into the dream world, much to his chagrin, and now he has to collect all seven of the notes to escape back into his world. However, some details appear to be unclear from a first glance, such as what or who he is and his true nature, or why has he been stuck in this world to begin with. The game seemingly answers some of the questions given, but others seem to be up in the air.

Suit		Reshnha wears the aforementioned suit, his hair now formed into a pompadour. Interacting with any NPC will have Reshnha shoot them.
Seraph		Reshnha turns into a Seraph, floating in place and lighting up an area around him. Pressing Shift will cause the screen to flare up momentarily.
Rambutan		Reshnha's head is now a Rambutan. Pressing Shift will make the fruit's skin peel away, revealing a protective eye and warping Reshnha back to his bedroom.
Mushroom		Reshnha becomes a Lion's Mane Mushroom, dangling from a piece of wood. Pressing Shift makes him spawn a Phantom Crab Statue. Up to six can be spawned.
Swim Tube		Reshnha wears a swimming tube with trunks. Pressing Shift makes him change how much rain is on screen.
Bowler		Not only does Reshnha wear the aforementioned bowler hat, but his skin becomes more saturated and his face is hidden by a cherry blossom. Pressing Shift makes the blossom reveal or hide his face.
Kanudog		Reshnha becomes a being that is part frog, part dog, part kappa and all around puppet-like. Pressing Shift makes him "bark"
