Overview

Fever is an English Yume Nikki Fangame by Shadoulex. It was created for Dream Diary Jam 7 in RPG Maker 2003.

Gameplay

Fever is a small and traditional fangame. You can access the Dream World by sleeping in your bed. The main goal of the game is collect the eleven effects in Max's dreams. Players can save by interacting with the laptop next to Max's bed in the real world.

Plot

Max is a teenager who got sick with fever and is having some weird dreams because of it. He must find the eleven effects in his dreams in order to heal and be able to leave his room.

Effects and Items

Name	Image	Description
War Paramedic		Max dresses as a war medic with a big eye on his helmet. This effect allows Max to run.
Hood		Max wears a red hood. Pressing Shift makes him put the hood on, and become slightly invisible.
The Common Ring		Max wears a Middle Earth costume. Pressing Shift makes him put on the "ring", showing a mist effect and becoming invisible.
Illness		Max becomes sickly and flushed. While using this effect, Max will move slower. Pressing Shift will make Max cough.
Gas Mask		Max wears a gas mask and a yellow hazmat suit. Pressing Shift doesn't do anything.
Pipe Wrench		Max carries a pipe wrench and wears his red shirt around his waist. Interacting with a Shadow Entity with this effect will "kill" it and play a bell sound effect.
Toy		Max becomes some kind of block creature, resembling a toy.
Classic		Max changes his art style to the original Yume Nikki's one.
Alien		Max turns into a simple alien. His skin becomes blue and his ears become long. Pressing Shift will teleport Max to the Nexus.
Red Nose		Max wears a red vest, and a red nose. Pressing Shift will change the weather to snow.
Palette Swap		Max changes the color of his clothes and his hair, swapping almost all colors in his color palette.

Items

• Cookies - Recently baked cookies. Using them results in a crunch sound effect.
• Instructions - It includes the instructions of the game, and a note from "P".

Characters

Name	Image	Description
Max		Max is the protagonist of Fever. He got sick, and refuses to leave his room until he's healed, in order to keep his family safe.
"P"		"P" is the girl who wrote the note the player reads at the start of the game. Her relationship with Max remains unknown.
Shadow Entity		Shadow Entities are creatures made of shadows. It is unknown what they are exactly. But they feel some kind of atraction for places where people had died before. There's one unkillable shadow entity at The Risk.
